Is icewind dale 1 similar to 2 in xp system?

Post by Claudius »

1. do you get more xp with a smaller party?
2. is xp based on strength of opponent such that if you have a high level party of 4 eventually you get no xp?
3. if I add a low level character (level 1) will bringing down the average character level make the xp go up again?
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

1. You get the same ammount of XP, but of course the XP per character is higher (like the Baldur's Gate series). The overall XP gained will be the same.
2. Each monster gives a pre-determined amount of XP, so even if you're 30, you'll still get your experience for slaying a goblin.
3. The average party level does not matter in IWD1, so it won't really make much difference here.
“The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially.”

On a related note: playing on easier or higher difficulties will give 50% - 100% more XP.
