@Rail: Oh well, it was worth a shot. Image BTW, since Void seems to know something I don't, how about e-mailing me about what just went on? I don't want to contradict anything you might have planned with my next continuation of the story.

@KidD01: I think Rail's right. You're the only one that can play your character at this point. Go ahead and send him colliding into the good party, as long as we're not somewhere like the Rift. I'll improvise with whatever we're doing to accomadate you.

@Aegis: If you intend to do the dance of death, want to sign on at 7:00 P.M. board time today? I'll check back periodically to see if you decline or want to change the time.

@Melosh-tar: Looks like you're running the evil party for now. I'm sure the rest of the baddies won't mind if you use them to advance the evil plot.

@Fallout: Void's really grating on you, isn't he? Image

@Fallout: Don't look at me, I'm not even doing it anymore! Image Rail hasn't e-mailed me yet, so even I don't know why Void did that.

@Aegis: Are you there? We need to keep things rolling in our adventure so we don't lag behind the others.

@Magus- I will explain Void's actions clearer by editing the above paragraph. (It's done!) I marked the edited portion so you don't have to read the entire thing. As you can see from the paragraph, I'm trying hard to play you all as goodies, but it's difficult! Image Image If this isn't clear enough, I sent you an e-mail. Please let me know if you didn't recieve it, since I had a problem with my account a few days ago. I'll hopefully pick up the story later tonight.

@Rail: Sorry, didn't get your e-mail. I'll e-mail you so you can reply, in case you messed up the username. BTW, Fallout would probably take great offense to Trip-Wire's honor comment.

@Aegis: I'm really tied on weekdays, but post a time and I'll tell you if I can be here. It can't be for over an hour though.

When the surroundings coalesce, the group again finds themselves in the guild of the Shadow Thieves. Aran looks up from his desk.

Aran (smiling): Here again I see.
He surveys the group, and he raises his brows and frowns.
Aran: No Magus, no Aerie? Well, well.
He turns to Void.
Aran: Where's your master, hakeashar? Is he so arrogant now that he sends servants in his stead?
A dangerous threat is veiled behind his controlled tone. Void replies, his words whispering in everyone's mind.
Magus may trust you, but I don't, human. Let's just say that circumstances demand his absence. Now let's cut this frivolous chatter. We have gained much information on Ubik, but we would know what you have gathered before we act.
Perhaps he sees something in the party's faces, or has a spark of intuition, but for some reason Void's antagonistic reply mollifies Aran.
Aran: Very well. My sources indicate that another has been seen entering and leaving the Planar Sphere. He wears the armor of a paladin, but lacks their trappings. I've already lost several operatives to him. He was observed looting Bodhi's lair before returning to the Planar Sphere.
This confirms what we already know. However, this new activity is...distressing. Bodhi is known to have done extensive research on necromancy.
Aran: Indeed. I also have other news. Quayle has been abducted by this fallen paladin. He left a message badeing me to inform Magus of this on a dead informant.
This will upset Magus, and especially Aerie. I'll relay this to them as soon as circumstances permit.
Aran looks skeptical, but remains quiet.
Doubt me if you must, I care not. Anything else?

@Rail: You can pick it up from here, if you want. I can't think of anything more to add.

Melosh-tar paces the Planar Sphere. He is becoming increasingly ill. Weakness permeates his tired body. Despite being unhurt, Melosh-tar feels his life (unlife?) draining from him. He feels...hungry.

@Melosh-tar: Time to keep you honest to your character-change. Image

@KidD01: It's hard for me to play a character I don't have a feel for. Plus, I already have to handle three (two right now). Add to that guiding the story, and it's really hard to take over another character and actually use him/her. As people reading the story may have noticed, I tend to emphasize one or two characters at a time, and ignore the other ones. More characters mean a bigger time committment, and I've stretched that to the breaking point lately to keep this story updated.
That said, here's what I predict if I introduce your character and get little or no input: He'll join the party, say a few things, and fade into the background. If you want your character to play an appreciable part, you're going to have to:
a)Take over your character and play him yourself.
b)Get someone else with less characters to play him.
I don't intend this to be at all hostile or peevish. I'm just stating what I believe will happen. I have my limits, after all. Image

*Flashback*

In a sunny day Fallout is walking with his newly found friends. His past two years pass in military profession. He improves his fighting tactics and abilities there. He fired there when one sergent sweared him and lost his ear in pain. While traveling another city he was attacked by trolls. He was rescued by Deadly and his friends. Consist of two mage Deadly and his assistant Caylak. A beautiful Ranger Cleric Altin. Fighter Thief Golge and a warrior Demir.

They welcomed him to group because a tough battle with a mage waits them. His name is Khan come from a distant country. With his evil plans and experiments he made a lot of enemy to himself. Entering tower and first levels are easy. Only some stupid Golems make a small resistance. At last they come to decorated and strong door looks like something important behind it. Golge work on door and open it. Inside the room there are a lot of open chest fill with treasure. They hardly prevent their feelings and go forward looking for traps. They scatter to the large room raid. Everyone looked at the Altin when she yell a confused scream. Two muscular men and a mage behind them looking towards us with a hate. Fallout cant understand what kind of warriors are they. Neither of have armours on them. One of them wielding two katanas but other, bald one is without weapon. Fight suddenly starts when 3 skeleton warriors attack to Golge and Altýn. Bald one rapidly run to Demir. The magic words fill the room. Light and sound blasts shake the room. He starts to approach the fighter, remembering the tails about Kensais.
Fallout readies his shield and axe and take an attack position. “This must be easy. He dont even” murmered. He starts his brutal attack. After seconds he is forced to make defence. Despite his all afford assaults cant hit hit the mark. Two katanas hitting his shield and armour damaging both continuously Blood leak from his wounds. With the pain he rages and attack. Again this time he couldnt make a serious wound to him. But Kensai looks tired now. Fallout fells something behind him and flee to right. A flying bald figure fly near him and kick the Kensei. This kick send him to book case. Hundreds of book and bookcase fall over him. Both Bald and fallout get confused what to do. Seconds later Monk turn to fallout with a sad look on his eyes. Before he attacks a shadow emerges behind him and backstabbing him. He yells with pain but resist to die. He hits a powerful fist to Golges chest and throws him to the other side of the room. Fallout aimed and throw his axe. Axe hits him from his head blowing it. He cursed himself because he was aimed to heart. He takes one of the katana droped by Kensei and look for other members. Altin is lieing unconscious. A lot of bones spread around her. When he sees the remaining from Iron he thanks to his luck. Even his full plate armor is in pieces. The battle of mage still going. Fire and ice covers everywhere. Deadly is fighting with a misty thing and looks he is loosing it. Caylak is trying to stop evil mage but Khans last spell melts him. At the same time a strong blast occur sending Deadly and creature out of fight.

Khans looks exhausted. Their glance locked short time. Fallout cursed him again and charged to mage. But its too late. Something begin to emerge in front of him. He can only see Djinni one second and it disappears. Before he can do something he was hit and thrown three meters. He wake up and sees another Djinnis summon and disappear. He starts to fight blind but it is a loosing battle. They are killing him slowly. Another unseen hit drops him to the one of the chest. This time he cursed the all magician in the world. His blood fill with anger and yells to his God for help first time in his life. While his voice echos in tower and lessen slowly he senses something in his hand. He wonders about his last treasure and looks to it. It is a hawk figurine. It starts to glow and vibrate. A shadow rush out from it screaming wildly. He sees a big Hawk flying in room. Fallout says to it “Yes you are free and i am dead.” When the images of djinnis begin to appear he gave his attention to his enemies again. This is unexpected. Seeing their grinning ugly faces he gather his last strength raging to them When he regain his self control both of them is dead.

Last enemy strain him with an amazement. However he start another spell.. Without energy fallout waits the incoming attack unconcerned. Suddenly he notice another mind in his thoughts. He can sense Hawks hate to the mage. With difficulty he order to attack and collapses. Everywhere begin to turn black. He hears mages screams and faints with a big smile.

A bright blue light fills his eyes. Altin is looking to him saying some meaningless things. Slowly he sits and see Golge and Deadly behind her. After a short speaking he learns what happened after his faint. Altin can resurrect other members except Caylak and Iron. She heals his severe wounds too. They ask some questions about Hawk but he reject them rudely. They take all the valuable things from room and get out. They see the mages corpse near door. His mouth was frothed like a poisoned man and his eyes are missing. Fallout feel proud of his new friend and chuckle loudly. He never be sure if it was a gift from his god or a pure luck.

This is the story of Mighty Fallout and his new friend Plucky’s meet each other.

We don't judge the grammar, and we appresiate the effort. I think we'll get along fine, fallout. Image Down with mages! Image Image (except you, Magus Image)

@Kid- I'll try and add you as soon as I can. Until I get a good feel of your character's personality from you, I won't have you play a big part in conversations. Work's been so hectic that I haven't been able to post much, lately, so I hope to get to it soon. Feel free to step in on your own, if you want.

Something tells me the evil guys aren't posting anymore. And when they do, its to be raped by golems/dildo/corpses (Ubik)/pain nymphs. Image

Ah, how true to alignments. The Chaotic evil ones fall apart bickering - the goodies win b/c they are organised. Keep up with the story though, its a cracking read. Image

Ok, time to get things rolling again.

Despite numerous feedings, Melosh-tar continues to feel weak. Something is draining him...slowly and inexorably killing him. His ?sickness? is getting worse, and Melosh feels worse every day. That night he can hardly rise from his sleep. If he doesn't do something quick, Melosh knows he will surely perish.

Doubt me if you must, I care not. Anything else?
Void and Aran stare intently at each other for a moment, assessing each other. Then Aran breaks the silence.
Aran: That's it for now, oh cynical one.(smiles) Keep your secret for all I care. Give Magus and his little elf my regards.
He gives a mocking salute, and the meeting adjourns. The party walks past the sentries into the hall, and the doors close behind them.
(to the party) That one is crafty. But it's only to be expected from the leader of the Shadow Thieves.
Fallout: Are we done sneaking around? I say we go smash in Ubik's door now and end this.
Rail: Not yet, my friend. We have one more ace yet to play. (turns to Void, grinning)
The hakeashar's eyes light up in a conspiratory smile.
(to party)Indeed. But let us discuss this in a safer place. For now, we will retire to the Rift. We'll need Magus for the next step of our plan. Hopefully the Rift has rejuvenated him by now.
That said, Void concentrates his energies, and the surroundings fade around the party. They reappear in Magus's bedroom.
The room is large and well decorated. Pictures of famous people, battles, and things pertaining to magic adorn the walls, framed in a strange glowing material. The pictures themselves lie behind a strange surface that seems to shimmer. One in particular catches the eye. It portrays Mystra's death at the hands of Helm during the Time of Troubles.
Several windows are built into the far wall, looking out over the beautiful garden. A lavish silk bed with an overhang lies in one corner, in the style popular among royalty and nobles. In the center of the room lies the comatose Magus, looking slightly more pallid than before. His breathing is barely discernable.
Void hovers, appearing to be deep in concentration.

@All: Take this as an opportunity to explore the room, examine Magus, etc. Any contact with Void will initiate the next sequence. Besides Magus, of course, there are some other items of significance in the room. They're not story-critical, but you can have some fun with them. Hint: There's something funny about those pictures...

@Aegis: I can't hold things up any longer. I'll check back tomorrow, and if you haven't responded I'm going to have to do the battle myself. The story's progression is now directly linked to the continued development of Magus and Aerie, so I can't wait any more. Image

@Gruntboy: You're such a spammer. Image Thanks for the compliment about the story. Hop in whenever you like.

@Fallout: Nice story. There was so many different characters I couldn't keep them straight. Image Did you play them as a party in BG1 or BG2? (playing as your own party through multiplayer) How do you like your "Can we just kill Ubik already?" line? Image

@Melosh: I'm not kidding about you dying. There's a simple and specific reason for this, one that you brought up and not me. Here's what you can do:
1)Scour your messages for little slips that could have caused this. Then remedy it yourself.
2)Do some research on vampires (in the game). I'll respond with your findings.
3)Find someone who will help you. I'll play the person, but you can give me attire and personality details of the person if you wish.
If you don't do something quick, the consequences could be grim.

@Rail: Magus is a force for good! At least when he's not spazzing or lying comatose. Image
Didn't intrude upon anything you wanted to do with Aran, did I? Also, I replied to your e-mail.
BTW, that's gracious of you to offer to play KidD01's character. I thank you.

Aegis grinned slyly as he observed the elven women in front of him.

Aegis: It seems your more intelligent then I thought. Deserving of some respect, I suppose.

He begins to look directly into Aerie's eyes. As he does so, he see's her body begin to quiver with a sense of fear. He begins to slowly bore into her sole, looking for anything that could help him escape this wretched place. He locks Aerie in his stare. She becomes unable to break it. She is strangely attracted to the stare, but freightend at the same time. She has never experianced anything like this, nor heard Magus speak of techniques like this.

Aegis slipped his palm into a hidden pouch beside his scabberd, grasping a handful of dust. He keeps her eyes locked. He face betrays no emotion, and seems as if it is was made of rock. He raises the dust up to his mouth, and begins a small incantation.

Aerie, hearing the tongue of magic, forced herself free of the strange link that had been formed. She suddenly realized what was about to happen, and frantically searched her mind for some counter spell, or anything that would protect her. Not fast enough.

Aegis finished the incantation, and blew the palm full of dust into the air. Aerie was expecting it to be a sleep spell. She was mistaken. The dust turned to a vapour like substance. A Black mist. Through the haze, Aerie could see Aegis grin. He had gotten what he needed to escape. The vapour suddenly shot towards Aegis, engulfing him completly.

Aerie reacted quickly. Quicker then she would normally. She removed the cloud of Black vapour from the room, and instantly began preparing another spell to blast at Aegis as soon as he re-appeared. She waited, but saw nothing. Aegis had vanished.

...............

Aegis continued to grin slyly to himself as he walked down the corridors of the Rift. The black Vapour was a particular favorite of his. Something he picked up on his travels. Unlike most spells, this was more of an illusion. By him vanishing, most would think it to be an invisibility spell, where in fact it was a transformation spell. When the vapour had hit Aegis, it turned his body into a w\liquid state, slipping through the nearest cracks, escaping the time consuming Elf.

As he walked, a sharp mind spike suddenly hit him. A new problem had arisen in the Rift. Void was back. He swore sileintly to himself. He wondered how Void would react to him and his power. He grinned. No bother, he thought. He was close to the exit of the tower now, and once out of the tower, he could escape the Rift through magics of his own device.

@Magus: Sorry I haven't been around for a bit. My computer crashed earlier this week, and I have not had internet access since. I'll try to get on more often. By the way, it took considerable amounts of will power not to blast you elven "whore". Image I think I made this post rather fair. Maybe Void could get in my way, or maybe something interesting could happen.

@Aegis: I'm not joking here...Aerie is no pushover in her current state. Also, you don't need to avoid battle. You just have to give me a chance to counter. BTW, there are no cracks in the Tower because it's made of magic. The whole world is set up weird. Therefore you're still in the library (it's all one room), but we'll say you're somewhere else in it. There's only one way to travel from room to room. And there's only one way out of the tower.
Also, you'll find Aerie's mind to be as strong as yours.

Aerie recovers and quickly realizes that Aegis has changed position. Suddenly he finds Aerie in his path once again. She speaks, and her voice is calmly confident.
Aerie: No, I will not let you leave. You will have to go through me first.
Aegis's renewed mental probes are rebuffed by a powerful block. Aerie stands resolute and unwavering, and the fear has vanished from her eyes. In its place is a calm, scrutinizing look of inhuman wisdom.
Then her will focuses on Aegis, and he is nearly overcome before the battle begins. As it is, he barely fends off the surprise attack. When he focuses back on the physical world, he finds a flame arrow streaking towards his heart, and Aerie already preparing another spell with astonishing speed.

@Aegis: I'm going to stall Void's entrance to allow Rail and Fallout to explore the pictures if they want. In your next post, just counter and launch your own attack. Don't assume your attack will hit/not hit, or that any offensive effect will necessarily occur. It would be nice if we could set a time to enact this... BTW: Sorry about your computer crashing.
Also, I'm not just flaunting the power of my characters. There's a reason for everything that happens. This battle is NOT impossible for you to win if you do certain things. But this "elven whore" isn't going to fall with one slash of your nifty sword. Hell, you could even run away again if you wish...coward. Image

@Rail and Fallout: If you're going to do some investigating, hurry up and start! If not, talk to Void so I can use him if needed. I'll keep your parts in this drama a secret for now.

@Magus: I feel as if I should clear things up. First, I wasn't probing her mind. I was looking into her, in a sense. It was more for distraction then anything else. By looking into her soul though, it gave Aegis the information he needed to escape. It's not like he just discovered how to make purple monkies fly our\t of ones @ss ( Image ) Second. Until now, I was pretty darn sure there were doors to each room. You know how doors have the small cracks where they don't touch the wall. Not even magic can be that perfect. I'm merely trying to advance my own part of the plot, and your making it difficult by forcing a confrontation. Third. I never said Aerie was a pushover (Well, once, but I retracted that). I never actually defeated her, I stalled her long enough for me to get away to further my goals.
