Taking out his silver harmonica, AN plays the blues to sad discordant tunes, joining the chorus of blues wafting on the air playing on unhappy Valentine's Day.
I care not for endings or beginnings, but for the eternal and infinite spaces of the universe, and for the endless exploration of eternity, and mysteries which I will find plumbing the infinite depths.

"Do not turn inward to find peace and wisdom, turn outward instead to find liberation from the narrow boundaries of self", quote from Gary Paul Nabhan, paraphrased of course

"When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong" quote from Arthur C. Clarke, thought it was interesting.

*wonders which would be better for joining in with the blues music, her Saxaphone or Trombone*

Still another couple of hours before Valentine's Day here.

*sigh* Despite the numerous bfs/gfs I've had, I rarely have one on Valentine's day. :(

Yeah, every time I have a conversation with someone it must mean something, right? Maybe I just shouldn't speak to people at all anymore, if that's the case

Ahem..... ! I sing this song especially for those couples celebrating Valentines out there :D

Ditch Me

Ditch me out of the bearded barley
Nightly, beside the green, green grass
Swing, swing, swing the spinning step
You wear those shoes and I will wear that dress
Oh, ditch me beneath the milky twilight
dump me out on the moonlit street
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance
Silver moon's sparkling
So ditch me
Ditch me down by the broken tree house
Swing me upon its hanging tire
Bring, bring, bring your credit cards
We'll take the trail marked on your father's car
Oh, ditch me beneath the milky twilight
Dump me out on the moonlit street
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance
Silver moon's sparkling
So ditch me
I'm not dead yet :D :p

As long as we've become so musical...

For all my fellow lonely hearts out there, a bit of Gershwin to cheer you ;)

They're writing songs of love
but not for me
A lucky star's above
but not for me
With love to lead the way
I've found more clouds of gray
than any Russian play
could guarantee
I was a fool to fall
and get that way
Heigh-ho, alas; and also
Lack the day!
Although I can't dismiss
the memory of his kiss
I guess he's not
for me

It all began so well
but what an end
This is the time a fella needs a friend
When every happy plot
ends with a marriage knot
And there's no knot
I guess he's not
for me
"I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened."

"So do all who live to see such times; but that is not for them to decide. All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you."

Well it is valentines day, i have recieved a joke valentines from my male boss, that is about as far as it goes

Am i bitter....not really, should i be... probably....am i going to be, probably not... :)

....i am tired of the romantic hard sell,
you know those sentimental lines are where we went wrong,
cause all those Movie Kisses just last to long.
I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.

What? I said he was in :D

Okay folks, I'm going to keep a journal today. I'm going to go through the day with updates on the degeneration of my condition, which I'll wager is representative of and is certainly meant to be honorary toward my fellow lonesome souls. Feel free to add your own progresses. We can look at each other's journals and compare notes. And if you don't want to wallow with me, well, skip :D

9:22 AM, EST

Feeling a bit drunk but haven't had anything to drink. Listening to Patsy Cline, the Queen of Sorrow, the Dame of Tragedy, the Doyenne of the Broken Heart, the Diva of Despair  Wishing I could go on a long pub crawl. Oh well, I have beverages here don't I? :D

10am
Got up early, ran, stopped to get coffee and sat down at my desk to study up for my phone interview. Phone rings. “Hello, Waverly? I’m out of town for the next week and I just wanted to let you know I’ll talk to you when I get back.” Ugh.

Check email. Note from soon to be ex-employer: “Gosh, things sure are busy without you around ( ). Haven’t had time to write you that recommendation I promised, and I’m on vacation next week so…” Ugh.

Email #2: “Waverly, you are a perfect fit to run my business, but despite your assurances I know I can’t afford you. Good luck!” Ugh.

Current status: mentally debating the advisability of the ‘no drinks before lunch rule’ and dreading going out to find a ‘Indifference can be Endearing’ valentine for the estranged Ms. W. Ugh.
Then darkness took me, and I strayed out of thought and time

*AN stops playing his harmonica playing to gulp a shot of whiskey down his throat, and procedes to rant and rave about love.*

Some people spend their lives looking for love, even love based on nothing at all. Hell some people will even settle for the appearance of love, even if it is not the real thing. Consider yourself lucky Der Daigen that you have at least found it once, most people are not so lucky, sure it hurts but it is better to hurt then to feel nothing at all.

Love is the prize, maybe it is not worth as much as I thought.

*AN takes another gulp of whiskey, and continues to play the blues, the downhome chords expressing the depths of emptiness.*
I care not for endings or beginnings, but for the eternal and infinite spaces of the universe, and for the endless exploration of eternity, and mysteries which I will find plumbing the infinite depths.

No no no, Waverly, this is virtual reality and you can have pre-lunch drinks here. What can I get for you? :D

I too tried to find a "Valentine's Day Sucks And In Fact If You Abbreviate Valentine's Day You Get The Letters VD, Which Can Also Stand For Venereal Disease" card. To send to my best friend as a joke. And the website said...

"There are too many people sending Valentine's E-cards right now. Try again later!"

Well...well....POGUE MO THOIN!!!

Like Waverly said...Ugh.
