3 High level mages 1 Demon a bunch of stone golems... it was on the easiest setting and I was having alot of trouble. The way I defeated the mages was casting web/cloudkill before fighting them. Anyway... my question is that i'm a dueled kensai mage and I got the sphere under my controll... What shall I do with this giant metal orb sitting in the slums?

Having put 2 mages as mains through the game, you're missing out on a lot of stuff.
I've always had it set on Core Rules, and I haven't had much trouble. Who's your party? It might help to know who you have before saying how difficult it was.
Power core should have had 2 iron golems, and a handful or stone and clay golems. Tolgerias and his lackey, and Lavok are the mages, and you could have defeated up to 3 demons for their hearts.

Since the stronghold is yours, begin with this. Teos will tell you to start with the Knights, by returning them to their own plane. Go to Ribald, ask him about the Knights. He'll give you an option to return the Knights (for gold, of course; about 9k). A mage should show up the next day and return the Knights.
Teos then shows up with 3 apprentices for you. Depending on what you have them make, some of them could die. Before deciding on what to build, save your game. Good choices would be Wand of the Apprenti (first task), Horrid Wilting scroll (second task).
The final task for the apprentices is difficult. Either have them make the Staff of Power or tell them to walk away. If they make the staff, all 3 will die. The only way to get the XP from the apprentices is to have them walk away. About a day later, you'll be treated to a graduation ceremony for the survivors.
A couple days later, a messenger will tell you to come to the Sphere. Teos is there, wondering why you told a messenger to summon him. Upon this, you'll be attacked, but it shouldn't be a tough battle. After it, Teos will tell you to use a Rune of Imprisonment on a noble in the Crooked Crane (Gate District). 2nd floor will have a battle. Use the Rune on the noble, then mop up his lackeys.
After that task is finished, Teos will give you the Sphere to keep. Enjoy.

Try to defeat an iron golem with good weapons?
Seriously, if you have the cash, give Aerie the Sling of Everad (assuming you have the bonus merchants). That'll be able to hit them. The irons are too wide to fit on the catwalks, so you'll be able to take them down at a distance.
Against Tolgerias and Co, you should try having your main and Edwin fire off a Cloudkill. It'll stick around for a few rounds and hopefully ruin their spellcasting. Send Minsc and Valgayr for melee, use Aerie for buffing spells. It may take a few reloads, but that does the trick. If you have trouble, summon a few critters and have everyone Hasted.

Not necessarily - if you come in via the iceroom door, some of the golems don't appear right away.Originally posted by Timekeeper

There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...
What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

But they will appear before long. First time I played the game I had set the difficulty to Normal (new gamer in all aspects) and even in Normal I had to fight a hell of golems.
Cheers,
Aubrey (don't wanting to remember _that_ time!)
