One of my friends a long time ago tried this:
After a few failed relationships, he had been pondering the idea of whether learning to know each other first really made any difference of not for the chances of staying together for a long time. He failed relationships had been slow, they had been friends at first etc, but still, it hadn't worked out. So he came to the conclusion that the opposite, not knowing each other at all, was worth a try.
One day when we was strolling downtown, he saw this beautiful lady. He thought "now or never", boldy stepped forward to her, introduced himself and said "Do you want to marry me?". The lady of course looked at him confused and a bit disturbed, then she replied "But we don't know each other!". He, foreseeing as he was, had anticipated this answer and quickly said "I know, but that doesn't matter, since we will have plenty of time to
learn to know each other.".
The lady was puzzled and seemed to actually think about the idea, but, alas - her conclusion was that she couldn't marry someone she didn't know.
