Enchant possibilities: the flying sniper
Enchant possibilities: the flying sniper
Got a golden saint soul in a gem and you're unsure what to do with it? Pay an item maker to enchant a top quality amulet with constant effect levitate. Why pay to have it done? So you can cram it to the maximum value (magnitude 8). Runs about 70000 gold, but it will work guaranteed.
Okay, so now you can fly everywhere and never put your feet on the ground. Most monsters in the game are earthbound. Most monsters have no distance weapon, and a lot of the magic using ones have really limited range. Logical conclusion? Get a good bow
It's great to be flying just out of range of a monster's attack and pelting them with arrows.

cool.
There is ONE monster in the game that's not earthbound though
I'm just reminded of something that happened to me one time. My character was exploring in the Northeast area, and I think had just cleared out a tomb or something, runs into a couple Alits. Well, the fight was taking a lot out of me, and I didn't have a lot of magicka to cast healing, and my handy healing ring had not recharged from the tomb. "Ah!" I thought - "I'll just use my handy Amulet of Levitation". So I levitate up above the hungry Alits and start casting a cheapo healing spell when what happens - you guessed it, a damnable cliff racer attacks me.
I wish I had a screenshot of it, I can just see some local watching and thinking "heh - yer fancy magic ain't so great now, is it?"

Has anyone used those Icarus flight scrolls? Well being the incredibly bright magi that I am I decided I would use the scroll and then just cast a slowfall on the descent to avoid dying on impact like I did the last time I tried it. Long story short.......you cant cast while your character is jumping so I created a nice new crater when I hit.

Easy workaround.... constant effect enchanted ring/amulet with slowfall on it.
Y'know, nothing says loving like constant effect enchantments. Constant effect chameleon. Invisibility. Summoning. Constant effect ring and amulet with the full range of bound summonable items between them. Constant effect health restore.... even 3 or 4 magnitude on that makes you nearly unkillable.
Just like in daggerfall, high level enchanting takes the cake

Flash is right, but those numbers are from the editor. To get an approximate number of ACTUAL enchanting points within the game, I think you need to divide those numbers by 10 or so.
examples:
Daedric Tower Shield 2250 enchant points (225 EP)
Exquisite Ring 1200 enchant points (120 EP)
Ebony Staff 900 enchant points (90EP)
well, something like that anyway
The 'piece of junk' Iron Shield that the skellys carry around can hold 50 ACTUAL enchantment points. My 'super cool' Glass Shield can hold only 10

You may want to create a second character who doesn't use enchantment as a major or minor skill. It's a bit tough to get a handle on, and only really takes off at later levels in the game. Check your manual for a lot of details.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

RE:
So are you going to test enchantment with max. profit? IMHO, it's obvious the mics. skills are most profitable to develop.Originally posted by fable

cj is right...hes psychotic, but right....
levitate and you rule....
make a daedric shield of demons, summons a goldne saint for 80!!! seconds, and you have a bomber...
drop amidst enemies, and watch bomb go off, i can use 3 times before recharge....
ebondy, heck any good staff with range damage health, and good long duration fireball, you have via spellmaker, and if you choose breton with atronach sign, you laugh at magic...
thinking of making feather constant effect belt....want good armor, and steel sucks...
