But don't you think that a Chaotic Good can break laws easier and do a couple of "bad" thinks occassionally for his/her own interest? Just remember the ransom note which brings you closer to pantaloons. I can't imagine a Neutral Good to keep the woman hostage till he/she gets the pantaloons.

I can't really see chaotic good doing this either, afterall you lose 2 rep points.
About Keldorn: yes, I know, I read the thread. But I still think it's really sick to try and smite dear Keldorn.

Loffelur has no idea what he/she started with that...

Cheeky sprat :) . Come sit on Uncle Ode's lap, why don't youImage? You are female, right?

True, CG characters are likely to have less reservations about breaking the law when it suits their purposes (possibly even enjoying it), but that doesn't mean NG characters are any less likely to break the law when it's necessary. Also bear in mind the alignments in BG aren't absolute, you can be NG with occasional CG tendancies if you wish, it just means you're usually NG.

As for Keldorn, maybe you should complain to Loffleur, who posted the thread that started the whole Kill-a-Keldorn movement.

Alignment:
Chaotic Neutral characters are unstable, and frequently insane. They believe in disorder first and foremost, and will thus strive for that disorder in everything they do. This means that they will do whatever seems 'fun' or 'novel' at any given time.

Race:
Humans are the 'average' race. They have the shortest life spans, and because of this, they tend to avoid the racial prejudices that other races are known for. They are also very curious and tend to live 'for the moment'.

Primary Class:
Mages harness the magical energies for their own use. Spells, spell books, and long hours in the library are their loves. While often not physically strong, their mental talents can make up for this.

Secondary Class:
Rangers are the defenders of nature and the elements. They are in tune with the Earth, and work to keep it safe and healthy.

Deity:
Azuth is the Lawful Neutral god of wizards and mages. He is also known as the High One, and is the Patron of Wizards. His followers believe that a systematic approach to magic is the best, and they strive for calm and caution in order to avoid accidents. They wear shimmering robes, and are well-versed in magic, as well as typical priest spells. Azuth's symbol is a hand with a raised, glowing middle finger.

FYI, Neutral Good is also called "True Good", as all that matters is whether something is good or not, not whether it's lawful or chaotic.

Indeed, great statement, Ode!!
This is how I see it.
You just follow your good instinct.

As I said, best alignment ever! :)

About the Keldorn challenge. Hey, he said no mage, not even a dual, could beat his fully buffed tank.

We already stated that a dual-mage would have no problems AT ALL, while a high level mage would be the winner but some planning is needed.

Now we are trying to beat him with a low-level mage (without 9th level spells), and low on equipment too, but so far we've been unsuccesful.... :(

That's a no, then? :D

Where I come from Aubrey is a girl's name, perhaps you should have mentioned what gender you are previously. If you're not female then maybe it's better you don't sit on my lap; it's nothing personal but I just don't lean that way. :p

@Littiz-I like CG and CN the best, but that's just me. NG is indeed the most "good" of the alignments, but I have an inexplicable fondness for chaotic alignments (aside from CE, I prefer NE for evil alignments).

Don't kill Keldorn if you are evil. Iim going to take him into my party, walk around the Order of the Radiant Heart just for fun... apparently they don't like you if have are evil. And then did his quest and screwed him up as much as possible. Much better than sensless violence. Ofcourse I may still kill him latter.

Off topic, and it ends here.

Aubrey is just a pen-name taken by a Lawrence Durrel's character in "Avignon Quintet". As for the rest, I maintain my right to keep my personal info for myself. Don't you agree?

Either gender, I wouldn't sit on your lap. Don't worry ;) :D :D

Alignment and Farmers

I've always pictured the lawful/neutral/chaotic issue like this:

There is a fence. On one side, the grass is green with clover. On the other side, it is lush with alfalfa. Enter two brothers who are farmers.

So, Farmer Joap is Lawful, standing on the clover side. Farmer Ed, in the meantime, is Chaotic, and hanging out where the alfalfa is. They like to throw dirt clods at each other, own cows, and will only feed their cattle on their own particular side of the fence. Along comes Farmer Billy with some of his own cows in tow. He's Neutral, and the cousin of the aforementioned farmers.

"Graze over here, cousin Billy," Joap calls out, "clover is best for your cow's tender stomachs." Throwing a clod at Joap, Ed hollers lazily, "Everybody knows that alfalfa's good for their udders. Bring 'em over here and forget about silly ol' Joap." This is followed by a volley of earthen artillery from Joap, incensed at being called "silly."

"I'll tell you what," replies a calm Billy. "I've got both clover and alfalfa back home, and rotate my cattle regular-like between the two. So I'll just send my milk cows over on your side, Ed, and send my beef breeders over your way, Joap."

I think NG is the most flexible of the good alignments (as NE is to evil), and to me, the best one. Good is the aim, and flexibility is the means to achieve that aim.

@Aubrey:

Why anyone would want to harm a hair on Keldy's head is beyond me. For that matter, I wouldn't want to hurt ol' Binky, either. I kinda like him. :)

If you're female the offer still stands, you understand :D ;) .

By all means, you can keep your gender to yourself, but there's no harm in revealing it either. Whatever suits you best.

And you were asking for that comment, you cheeky girl/boy. Uncle Ode is fine by me, actually I sort of like it, but when I get teased I tease back. Or flirt, either works. :D :p ;)

Ok. I posted the kill the keldorn challenge to follow up on Loefflur's "beat this guy" post since it was way too easy to beat him with an equal level character. I am a bad bad man. Well according to the personality test I was a NG ranger, but apparently that test is mistaken.

Since schemes to defeat Keldy disturb Aubrey you I'm going to assume that you're a serious RP buff =) In which case I should confess that I started that thread at the behest of Keldorn's wife. It is her hope that, once he sees that mages are just overpowered and that however noble he just doesn't stand a chance even against mage whippersnappers, he'll come home and give her the loving she deserves and she won't have to keep spreading it around town. So really, I'm just doing the guy a favor.

Or if he doesn't, Ode has an available lap for her to use any time she's lonely. :D

Glod,

Let’s assume that your above statement is true. Firstly, do you really believe that Keldorn would run away and return to his home’s safety and to his wife? You must be joking!

Secondly, if his wife resorted to that kind of tricks, do you think that she really deserves a noble and wise man such as Keldorn? He has forgiven her once; twice would be a besetting sin.

I wish I could be such a good player as to defend Keldorn… *sigh* :o

@ Ode; The spirit of the lizard king is strong in you I see...but your flippy flappy tongue thing is quite disturbing :D

@Aubrey; why not help the Keldster out by trying to foil some if Littiz's evil strategies? He seems determined to crush the guy beneath a swarm of Mord's swords.

@ kopywrite --

I suppose I'm an amateur coward... :(

Even reading Littiz's strategies against poor Keldorn gives me the creeps. I'll try to think of something, but it's hard with all these veterans (in comparison, I mean). Let's carry this chat on there. Have you "seen" fable pointing his finger? :)

Cheers

I'll wager it'd be more disturbing to Keldorn. If anyone knows where I can find a suggestively grinning smiley I'll use that instead, but as it stands this is the closest I could find. ;)

@Aubrey-We were all surrounded by comparative veterans once, the longer you're around the more you'll pick up. I've been at GB for less than a year, believe it or not.

Still waiting on nba_brown to post her test results.

@Fable-What did you get on the test?

Sigh. Even my pure of heart motives are condemned.

@Ode, buddy, she is no spring chicken, leave the poor woman alone. I dunno about you but I try to steer clear of the wives of vigilante types like Keldy.

Mrs. Firecam just wants her sugar bear to spend less time playing with his sword and show her some attention. Whats wrong with that? Sheesh. Her only other option was to go on Jerry Springer for one of those "deadbeat dads" specials. Not a pretty sight.

Maybe you're right. How old was Keldorn's daughter again? :D She looked to be in her late teens IIRC. Correct me if I'm wrong on this one.

Hmm... :D

@Glod-Maybe you're just misunderstood. ;)
