Funniest Dialogue in the Game?

Post by Chanak »

Who has the funniest dialogue in the game?

IMO, Jan Jansen is the winner. His dialogue has the goofiest cast of characters - such as Golodon the Unmanned - and by far the most insulting diatribe I've seen yet, "Ano the dung orc." I spent a good deal of time laughing at his stuff. I like him just for that.

Minsc is sufficiently loopy for me, and I like some of the things he says as well. He may not be the winner, but I thought I'd mention him anyway. :)

What's your opinion?

My favorite is the spectator beholder. That guy makes me smile especially in ToB. Jan has some great stuff too though.

@Glod:

Yeah, the Spectator makes me smile as well. I wouldn't dream of attacking him. I wonder if you can actually kill him in SoA, and if you do, does he reappear in ToB?

Jan and the Spector Beholder are the clear winners. Their dialogues were so funny, it was disturbing. ;)

Definitely the Spectator and Jan.

But I always liked Viconia for being her gothy brooding self.

Hell, I remember one time. I was walking around in the docks district and came along the two guys fighting over the Bubbles girl.

Once they finished fighting, Viconia just says out, "Surface dwellers can be so stupid." ^_^

Jan Jansen has the funniest dialogs in the game, IMO. Sometimes it pays to let your party members get killed, to get gems like these when raising them - highlight for spoiler:

Jan: Greetings, everyone. Sorry, no gifts or souvenirs this time but I'll keep you all in mind the next time I'm gone. Oh, Keldorn: the gods say 'hi' and that you should wash your underwear more thoroughly. Everyone ready? Let's go adventuring... :D
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

You don't have to kill him. If you have sufficient WIS you can convince him to let you take a look. When he finds out what he's guarding he leaves.

A funny one is it ToB if u have both imoen and sarevock and it goes something like
imoen-sarevock what is it like to die?
sarevock-u don't no?i would have thought Legolas(me) had a discount at the temple of helm to raise u.

Another ToB is in Abizigals Lair, when u send those adventurers to get the item.They are a barbarian, an elven mage and a dwrven thief, and they are mad funny.At the end they comeback and want to attack u and u turn to slayer and slaughter them, but the crazy mage reloads.it was funny, but i didit along time ago and forgot.make sure u un-petrify them!

@DrSlikk:

The entire pantaloons thing is hilarious. I'm hoping that Neverwinter Nights will have it's own quirks, like BG has. I would miss it if it didn't. It's part of what makes the BG series the finest games ever produced, IMO. There's good ones out there, but none with their depth.

@ R.O.A -

Wow, I never expeienced that one before and I've had both Anomen and Imoen in my party three times! Looks like I'll have to do some tinkering with the Global Variables to pull that one out of the box. :D

Boo and Chikita Fast-Paws sitting up a tree...

The Korgan Nalia one is pretty good to. He talks about his reputation amongst the dwarven ladies and tells Nalia if she was short and bearded she would understand.
