I don't do anything because of his reviews, I just seem to agree with a large number of them.
I like him because he seems to be honest, and will give everything a chance and a second chance. Unlike Maltin who dissmisses stuff because of their premise.
For instance- Ebert gave most of Kevin Smith's movies at least 3 stars, as opposed to Maltin and others, who didn't even try to find the inteligence in them, and simply said they were stupid comedies.
Also for Episode 2- he gave it 2 stars, but said that he had to see it again and on a digital screen to give a better anlysis. Sure enough, he posted a new review saying how the digital screen magnified the expirience.

Again- one of my favorite movies of all times.

Perhaps he has changed style since i last read anything by him; it has been a while. Any recent reviews of his worth reading?

It's hard to say.... I just discovered his site latelty, so whenever I see a movie new or old I usualy check it up there.

He is the only reviewer I've seen who gave a positive review for 'The Rock', so he has my vote

. I love that movie, IMO it is highly unapritiated for it's acting and especialy for it's music.

The latest review I saw of his that I agree with was 'Gosford Park', which I just checked up last week. That's alsoa great movie.

I must say i did enjoy The Rock, i wouldn't say it was a masterpiece and it does have flaws but it is one of the most enjoyable movies of the ninties.

The latest review I saw of his that I agree with was 'Gosford Park', which I just checked up last week. That's alsoa great movie.

I'll have to check it out, Gosford Park is good if a little long, it is nice to see so many good British actors getting a pedestal.

What better recommendation can there be...I really enjoyed The Rock. How people could give it negative reviews is beyond me

I've just seen 'Some Like It Hot', and it jumped straight up into my favorite movies list. As for it's location, I'm not sure yet. It's a great movie. The first Marylin Monroe I've ever seen!

It truely has one of the most hillarious scripts ever written, preformed by two great actors- Tony Curtis and the late Jack Lemon.

The movie is about these two musicians who witness the St. Valentines day massacere, so they run away, dressed as women, with an all female band going to Florida.
One of them falls in love with Merylin Monroe, while the other becomes the object of the affection of a single millionare named Osgood.
QWithout saying more, I'll jump to the last scene.

Just the (extriemely famous) last line kept me laughing for a while. It's one of the few movies which I have come out really feeling better and smiling.
BTW the last line goes:
Jerry/Daphne (Jack Lemmon): 'You don't understand Osgood! Aaah... I'm a man!'
Osgood (Joe E. Brown): 'Well, nobody's perfect.'

A great comedy.

What do you have in mind, i watched Spiderman tonight and i must say i enjoyed it, for all the plot holes, innaccuracies and ridiculousness, i actually enjoyed it

Although they didn't half set it up for a sequel

Plus they just had to get an American flag in there didn't they

I recommend it to anyone who doesn't want an intellectual film and just wants to enjoy themselves for a while, deep and meaningful it isn't

I think this movie might have made me just infintesimly less cynical, more of this and you never know, i might like LoTR2

Actually LotR was probably the only film in history that had to have a sequel, heck they filmed all of them in the same shoot

Give me your opinion! you'll be surprised how boring it is here, even with the one or two douzen people getting shot or blown up everyday!

How is it comparable to Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, that is from the same time frame, which is better? I have never seen Some like it Hot, so i can not comment on it's good or bad points.

Anyway, Some Like It Hot is fantastic...it's very very funny indeed, in the Carry On, Fawlty Towers style (slightly arch but still outrageous slapstick). It is black and white, and Marilyn is sexy...

That was not a joke. If you notice my location- 19 people died in a bus bombing yesterday.

I really hate New Line and Peter Jackson for what there doing. They're really mistreating the fans.
If you havn't heard- they're releasing 3 different versions of the LoTR DVD, each one with different stuff, so to get the entire expierience you have to buy all three. And there isn't any commentary on any of them.
I have to see it again, but I wasn't especialy impressed with the movie. I think the second one looks light years ahead of the first.
They're also changing the order of stuff and taking stuff out.
Jackson said that they're moving Shelob's lair to the start of the third movie (from the end of the second book)in order to give more time for other stories, which is understandible, but doesn't make any sense, as the third book has more and IMO better information.
Also they're totaly taking out 'The scouring of the Shire', the last chapter of the third book. They say they're going to end it with Galadriel's vision somehow, which terrible, concidering the fact that she was, in the eyes of many the worst part of the movie. Although the DVD is suppose to have an alternate scene with her, making her more simpathetic and positive.

Damn those marketing guru's at New Line. I can't buy three DVD's of the same thing.
