Bel Haladrin - paranoid elven fighter - proud member of The Blades of the Banshee

Ancient times they had no statistics so they had to fall back on lies
"I'm invinceable"
"your a loony"
I'd rather be rich than stupid.
If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

What about an elven fighter/thief character tuned to be like a ranger. A scout type character that can get himself out of a scrape if need be. Don't know if ranger is better for this because of the ambidexterity, favored enemy and some other stuff. I don't think the ranger can get backstab which turns me off. Plus the fighter gets bonus feats.
Are all feats implemented? like rapid fire, long shot other archery feats?

I'm going as a Paladin! Always gone as a paladin, always will. As for prestige classes...I don't know what PCs there are in NWN. Normally, I go as a PC that I made myself, the Templar.

Really, you should never quote POR2 rules in our presence again.Originally posted by Demis
This is quoted from POR2 manual, so i don't know how accurate will be in NWN:
Monks are proficient with all simple weapons and with all types of armour. In addition, Monks are allowed to add their Wisdom modifier and a bonus based on the level of their AC when not wearing any armour. When wearing armour, a Monk loses his AC bonus from wisdom, AC bonus for class and level, favourable multiple unarmed attacks per round and heightened movement.
Also Monk have several other special skills that are not affected by armour.
Oh, and online in Argyle, I'll be playing a quarterstaff toting Rogue-Cleric. I'll prolly experiment with the other classes quite a bit, as well, however.
Totino's party pizzas rock! All a college kid needs to get by....
@AJ i know that POR2 was poor in implementing 3E D&D, that's why i gave a warning about its accuracy.Originally posted by average joe

It is quite a powerful class later on, it can be a struggle earlier due to a lack of armour and (relatively) low hit points, but struggle through and persevere and you can have anyone!Originally posted by Tutoric
Was looking to go Paladin but now you guys have me thinking Monk, never tried it in BG2, but I'm going to take a look.

In my opinion, once you get to level 15 or 16 with a Monk, they pretty much become the best melee class. They could destroy another fighter or barbarian of the same level no matter what weapon the fighter/barb is using. Monks get the highest saves in the game, a high AC (provided you have decent scores in dex and wisdom), the most damage (a d20), and they are insanely fast. Their only weak point is a slightly lower base attack bonus.
In other words, monks dominate. But that's just my opinion...
Now if only someone could make a Blademaster type prestige class for a fighter PC, that would be cool![Smile :)](./images/smilies/)

The one thing I don't like about a monk is that they can't use special weapons with cool effects. Sorry, but given the choice between powerplaying with a monk and using a sword with cool effects, I'll choose the latter everyday, even if it means going to my death.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Ever the Wizard
My first choice would be the human wizard (sorcerer? I don't like intuitive magic - the art ought to be studied). However, low level wizards get killed quite often, so I always play as a wizard on the 2nd time.
The first time I'm gonna play a "human monk" or an "elven ranger" (never tried it before). Maybe, just maybe I'll give the paladin a chance.

Paladin is good, but rather boring, class. The high Charisma (needed for practically everything of use in the Paladin class) helps to reduce the prices of equiment and it makes it easier to talk to ppl. But I tend to dislike the class, I hate the "holier than thou" attitude.
I'm not evil I'm morally challenged
The Paladin is my personal favourite class, but I think it is underpowered compared to a class like the Monk. At 20th level the Monk is an outsider and has +12 saves across the board, a Paladin has +12 Fortitude save and +6 for Will and Reflex. It should at least have +12 Will because of it's resistance to temptation!

These are the basic saves right? Doesn't the Paladin adds his charisma modifier to all of his saves in 3e D&D?Originally posted by Nippy
