Re your beach experience: ROFL Like you, I have absolutely no hang ups about nudity, but I would prefer not to meet my prof without clothes It might sound strange, but I'd rather meet him if I was nude and he was clothed, than the other way around - I am pretty comfortable without clothes but I have no idea what he would think.

lol! Yes, I think I was probably more comfortable that occurred this way than the other way round :D It was most amusing, in all the times I've met with him, he has never maintained quite as much eye contact with me as he did today! :D

I am fine thanks, been very lazy the last 2 days How about you?

I am great, so far it has been a good weekend. We went out for dinner last night, and picked up a bottle of chilled rose wine before heading home, which we drank on the balcony once the child was asleep ;) and today has been pleasant as well :)
may i enquire where this beach would be?

Somewhere along the British Columbia coastline.... :D

Sounds absolutely wonderful *sigh* sometimes I feel far too removed from nature here in the middle of a city...more so now because I haven't had a vacation for 1.5 year,

that sounds rough..... :(

I'm back... had forgotten how much I hate Durlag's Tower. :rolleyes: Does anyone know which thieving skill is used to remove traps? Is it find traps or lockpicking?

@CE I sympathise, I haven't been on holiday for 3 years ;)

Lockpicking Georgi....and yes Durlag's Tower was what every dungeon in the BG series looks up to.

Thanks :) That's what I thought... so how come I had my thief drink several potions of master thievery, so she had about 180% lockpicking ability, and she still couldn't disarm one of the traps?!? :confused: It wasn't one of the ones that forces you to go round, it was on a chest in the level with the wardens.

The trouble with Durlag's Tower is that BG doesn't have a bag of holding, or unlimited ammo holders. Plus I get bored on a dungeon crawl so long. ;)

That's odd....180%?????? Oh well, sometimes if there's no pain there's no gain (to use an overused cliche). Especially since your carrying billions of items. It took me more time to do Durlag's Tower than to do the rest of TotSC combined (plus a little bit of BG). I mean, ever wonder why no one in Amn ever had the amount of traps, moreover, fatal traps as Durlag did?

The absolute worst would've been if the developers decided to put in Firkraag's big brother at the end, rather than some demonknight that was easier than the dungeon.

Yep... so I got annoyed and quit, it might just have been some random bug I guess. Me too, it takes ages... ROFL :D Well, because Durlag was really paranoid. :D

LOL :D In BG you just don't have the power to kill a dragon... I don't even have any level 5 spells yet! I think by the time you get to the demon knight, you can't take on anything much bigger... The real final battle IMO is that damn demon cult thing in Ulgoth's Beard, that was the most challenging in the game last time I played it... I had to cheese it in the end, and have my thief run up and down the stairs with a wand of fire :D

@DW:

The sun is shining in your half of the continent? :) It was blazing, here, so much so that I sought refuge from it!

I must say, however, that despite the drizzle that was the mainstay of Seattle weather, I enjoyed the climate in northern Washington state more than any other I lived in. No sinus problems, and the weather was mild year-round. :D

@Georgi, The Z:

I do believe that Find Traps governs your chance to disarm traps. The skill used to be called "Find/Remove Traps."

@Chanak,
indeed the has been shining, the last number of weeks we have enjoyed highs of at least 25*C (around 77* F), but, as you know from having lived around Seattle, being in a temperate climate, we rarely get that oppresive summer humidity. :) I love this area in the summer, but I'd much prefer snow in the winter. Ah well, can't have it all I suppose.... ;)

Anyway, just came on briefly, must go bond with my pillow. :)

Night all :)

LOL! I think I had my fill of snow and ice during my life. :) When I was in the military in Germany during the Gulf War thingy, we were up to our knees in the snow at a Rail Depot in Meisau, which is about an hour from the French border (and west of Frankfurt). We had to keep the loading area clear of snow so we could run our forklifts.

The snow is definitely fun to play in, but I suppose I don't like the icy roads, and the mess that results when the snow melts... :rolleyes:

I grew used to the drizzling rain in Seattle - it wasn't that big of a deal - but what I loved most about that entire region were the breathtakingly beautiful forests. Even Yakima, with it's desert-like terrain and pools of volcanic ash from the St. Helens eruption, was beautiful. :)

May you have quality time with your pillow. :cool:

*sigh*All this reminiscing has me missing my uncomfortable manacled chair...where is the Mistress of the Sublime when you need her? :cool:

I'd be willing to wager he'd prefer it that way too... ;) :D

lol! He's actually a pretty cool guy....I think it was just that neither of us were expecting to encounter one another on a clothing optional beach :D I mean given that there exists a certain level of formality (although much less than is the case for undergrad students) between a supervisor and their supervisee, and that there are definite boundaries in place...... it was just slightly awkward :D

LOL :D And I am sooo glad I have never seen my tutor on a "clothing optional" beach! :eek: :D (What kind of a silly PC name is that anyway? What happened to "nudist beach"? :D )

No doubt! :D
Well, that is what it says on the sign, though I do agree, it sounds a bit PC. I think the idea is to convey the sense that a complete removal of garments is not obligatory :D
