This Is Not A Mutual Backpatting Arena - If You Are In Need Of Mutual Backpatting Please Go Elsewhere

Well, how do you get around the online world?

Have you got a massive internet reputation?

What other forums do you belong to?

I only ask because I recently joined the Magic the Gathering forum, and was pleasently surprised when people there were friendly and helpful...but I have only just met the nasty ones and have actually discovered that it is a seething vipers' nest of bigotry and hatred  (don't you hate it when you do that?)

So tell us about your other networking activities, and well done everyone for making this possibly the only friendly, nice, big, interesting forum on the entire internet. maybe this will be the last. I am glad to be here... :)

How do I get around the online word? I dont really. :D I use google for searches...is that what you mean?

Have I got a massive internet reputation? Only on two forums...so no. :D

What other forums do I belong to? Only 3 and only 2 I have really enjoyed. I belong to a Tekken forum, a Robot Wars forum, and this one. All are completely different worlds. This one is, by far, the best forum Ive been to. Robot Wars is the other pleasant forum. Its well organized and only a few troublemakers leak in. Much less than this forum. This forum has increadible statistics of the ratio of nice people compared to negative personalities, obviously with the nice people heavily beating the number of negative personalities. The Tekken forum was too quiet, so I didnt like it very much. There were positives there, but the community was too small to get attached.

Sniveling git. Sucking up, eh? :p

Smilies of course, implicate sarcasm. I belong to a few other forums but I rarely visit them and have no contact or communication with the people/folks/vipers/etc. who reside in those in forums.

Other forums I belong to include: several gaming forums for the PC and console world and tekky forums where I am a member to share info with other network/programming folk. However, in each of those other forums I have met people (vipers as you call them) who are quick to lash out at others for whatever reasons. I am of the belief that such people are frequently picked on in real life and thus find their revenge in tormenting or belittling others who cannot pound them into a pulp because they are unseen, online.

A MtG forum, eh? Where abouts? I used to be a member at mtgnews and posted heavily back in the days of the Rath and Urza cycles, but alas, I rarely play now and am left with a useless mountain of cardboard worth a small fortune. Actually, as fate would have it, I am getting together with a few other old players and we're going at it typeI style. I am looking forward to playing timewalk, needless to say. Alas, I digress.

My real Internet personality is here, in the GB forums, because the lot of you have seen the most of me, in the realm of 1's and 0's.

Check this thread out for viperous! Specifically the second and third posts. There are much worse examples of novice-hatred popping up all over the board, but the speed and blatantness of these posts (and the fact that it is a new thread) give a good example. Anyway, it is a good forum if you want a lot of information and do not mind getting into a lot of arguments all the time :) . Anyway, by all means sign up and I will be nice to you  ...

re Timewalk - There is an even better new version - Time Stretch, gives you three turns instead of two...costs 9...but I digress :D

I'm not an active member of very many forums - I am on a Radiohead message board, and I was very active on a Diablo II board until I gave that up...I found there was no need to continue in tech support forums, since the one provided by Buck is far better, despite having fewer people. GB is the place for me. Soon everyone will know the power of SYM! (evil laugh) :D

Thug

using this name for a good while I was a DUMP for some warez groups, this was prior to my gathering of morals aka lost cable modem.

I've been online forever and would most notably be known through some IRC rpg channels as Alickadao... or perhaps not. This is the first/last forum I have ever been addicted too, next to the http://www.classicgaming.com/thelastoutpost in where I post articles under same name.

One of the first things I did online was actually play Neverwinter Nights via AOL's graphical rpg. real fun.

Let's see, I'm a moderator on an anime mailing list which I planned to upgrade into a forum (Well I planned to resign yet the new mistress won't allow me to :) ). And several "underground forums" which I can't specify due forums rules ;)

I took part about 6 months ago in another RPG forum for perhaps a month. But the SYM-style area was crawling extremely conservative Americans (note: I'm an American) who would flame on sight, and get wrist-slapped by the site owner with incredible delicacy over things that'd get 'em expelled, here.

After somebody called me a Nazi because I said both Palestinians and Israelis were responsible for their living together, I finally left. Took me about three major flames to get the idea--I was unusually patient and dense.

I only look at one other board....A music board. It's not that great, the they got a few people who know gear and theory, so I mostly lurk

I joined another board sometime back, but Fable was there and he busted me as a GB member :D Then I forgot what board it was, so haven't been back

I browsed this forum for a couple months, then joined and went to the BG/BG2/ToB/IWD forums, and eventually I figured out that SYM is the only place to be :D
