New to the game and I may have stupid questions.
10 points is enough for a constant-effect bound item, CE restore fatigue or CE restore health, but it's not enough for fortify effects. If you really want a bow with CE Fortify Marksman, I'd recommend putting CE bound longbow on some piece of clothing or armor. It does the same damage as a daedric bow, weighs nothing, and has CE Fortify Marksman 10 points as well.

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Hmmmm. I haven't experimented with any of the bound item spells yet. This may be worth looking into...![]()
Oh, you should.

There is no 'good' answer to this query. Each house has it's own pros and cons. I joined Telvanni because I knew in advance what the quests were and joined for that reason. My stronghold is in the middle of nowhere far from even the nearest transportation hub. I care not. The joining was for the quests.

The Great Houses tend to favor certain classes:
Hlaalu: Stealth-based classes
Redorran: Combat-based classes
Telvanni: Magic-based classes
However, there's no hard and fast rule for choosing a house. I've played a stealthy character and joined House Telvanni (for the quests, access to certain services, and I just like their attitude - ask about their rules

Hmmm. Telvanni sounds interesting, but I am curious about those Ash Statues I keep finding and the journal lists them as a Redorran quest....
Maybe I'll hold off for a bit. I've been getting a little confused with all the quests I'm doing, and joining a house just will compound the problem.
In the mean time, I wanted to report that I tried out Scayde's flying trick to become "Super Gwally"
I used the Blinding Boots of Speed with a resist Magic spell, then I got the 100-pt levitate from the shrine in Vivec. I flew all the way to Ghostgate and back before the levitate ran out! Lots of fun, but not very satisfying for the explorer in me. Still, I'll probably try it again sometime.

That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

There will be times when you just want to 'get there and to hell with the exploring'. You've learned an important 'skill', but I think your ability to fly that fast has to do with the 100 points of the levitation spell rather than the boots.

I did that during one of my first 2 tries - got all kinds of quests started and couldn't remember where I was. In this (my 4th) run, I did Fighters and Mages at the same time as Main. Once I had finished those 3, I went through the others one-by-one. The only one I haven't done is Morag Tong.

No - the boots do increase your levitation speed (and swimming speed as well). See for yourself - make an item with constant-effect levitation 1 pt and equip it. Then, equip the boots and notice how much faster you move.

For CE-effect levitation items, you can go a few points higher, but not much, since such effects use a lot of enchantment points.

Yes, but what does a few more points in Levitation get you? Faster movement rate? Higher levetation (elevation)? Maybe its faster vertical movement?Originally posted by Sojourner

Just faster levitation speed (in any direction).

I encountered a small role-playing crisis of sorts last night. Malacath wanted me to kill off the last of the Oreyn blood line, so I found Farvyn and spoke with him. He didn't seem such a bad sort, and was well regarded among the people. Why should I kill him for something his ancestor did (taking credit for someone else's heroism)? Its not like he was hurting anyone, and he willingly admitted that he was living a lie. What would you do in this situation?

It depends upon whether you want the Helm from Malacath or not. For me it's the best in the game: heavy armour rating of 90 and Fortify Agility and Endurance 40 pts each. And remember what the gods want is what they want - no negotiation.
Your choice.

If you ask about his ancestors deeds, i doesn't matter what your decision is he attacks you anyway. I was going to let him go but he decided he wanted to uphold the family rep.
