I was just pondering one of lifes imponderables...which chromosome encodes the spam gene? Assuming it is not a complex multigene syndrome and the trait is due to a single gene then where is it? Can't be the Y chromosome since girls can do it too (girls don't have a "Y" in case ya'll forgot your Biology). Could be autosomal (non-sex chromosome linked) but then I got to thinking, do girls do it better/more? Perhaps dosage-linked in which case it is on the X chromosome (girls are XX, boys are XY).....

Well as I recall, channel changing, refusing to ask navigation questions and barbequing have for sure been linked to the Y chromosome. Love of shopping and (I think) nagging mapped to the X. Boredom is indeed autosomal but can be overriden by gain of function channel changing, BBQing, shopping or nagging (at least in part)
@ Scayde You will of course have noted the qualifier in there, DO??
Girls probably do do everything better with the notable exception of getting horribly lost and refusing to ask for directions....![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/)

LOL......Mmmm...I don't know, I may have been mistaken, it seems smoothe talking may also be linked to the Y chromosome
