Oh I don't know I don't think SYM is dying, I think its really just changing, its a time honored thing that happens to all creatures, and it happens to even one as exquisite and funny as SYM.

Like me I am not here that often but keep coming back, have been for years, this is probably partly due to my continual obsession with fantasy games but its also because I want to see what the Righteous Order of the Slurrs is up to(which incidently I had a hand in starting, and with justifiable pride I hope it has grown like the disgusting fungus it is), or I want to check out the newest installment of the comic Dungeon, I could put it in some save thingy but due to innate laziness it is easier for me to come here.

I like to come back also because I want to see what old Bloodstalker is up to, has he started a new tunnel system, or hear interesting discussion from old fable(that darn Cannuck), I think that the fact that people keep coming back here even when they have moved on to other things, says a lot for the fact that SYM isn't dying. :)
"In Germany, they first came for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the homosexuals and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a homosexual. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a protestant. Then they came for me--but by that time there was no one left to speak up."

Dude, I rarely become speechless, but your inanity has actually stunned me responseless. For serious.

Seriously though, can someone remind me what the rules are again? I mean I'm pretty sure that if I call this guy a dumb **** (an accurate description in its own way, used in this case) I'll get a warning and my post will be edited. However there he is insulting a whole forum and nothing is done. Let's face it, it's an insult. Saying the forum is dead is equivalent of stating every single post I've made is worthless, empty, and unworthy of notice. Or am I the only one taking it this way?
What really makes me shatter down in tears, however, is the sheer stupidity of the comment. Honestly I don't mind insults on internet forums as frankly communication over forums is pretty much as impersonal as it can get. But this is tasteless and idiotic. The fact that he is saying that SYM is dead within SYM makes him a troll. If he considers SYM dead there's no reason for him to be here. Since he is here posting, he must consider the forum to be alive. So, the guy is consciously making a statement which he knows is wrong in order to piss people off. That, is trolling.

If my post gets deleted, because it's considered inflammatory, but James' remains untouched, I'll lose faith in humanity, decide there's no justice in the world and probably go on a killing spree. Have a nice day :)
Vicsun, I certainly agree with your assertion that you are an unpleasant person. ~Chanak

Calm down, Vicsun. It was a simple observation, at worst. Quite frankly, he's not far off. SYM barely has as much activity as it did this time last year, but that's not necessarly a bad thing. It just means people are moving on. Don't take it as a personal insult.

I am impressed, James. You went to the trouble of finding this thread to dig up and post your opinions in. You could have just shrugged your shoulders and left again. This post can easily be construed as trolling.

Many people aren't so much moving on, @Aegis, as they are simply very busy. I know I can't post anywhere nearly as often as I used to, given increasing business, and CE had said as much to me, in person, when we met in the Netherlands. Nor can Silur, though he's always been in any case the strong, silent type. :p ;)

Weasel's up to his neck in diapers (now, there's an image). We are getting some new people in, and I know for a fact a few previous posters will be returning. But SYM's gone through slow patches before, when we all had to give recognition to the fact that our lives extend beyond the boundaries of the boards. :D

Its a shame that these days don't go much longer, then we'd all have time to post more often. ;)

Well, if nothing else, that should draw the attention of the SYM female contingent.

Indeed, it is interesting to see former members go off and say such nasty things about us elsewhere, yet go to such great and elaborate lengths to disquise themselve and their IPs so that they can keep returning, and returning, and returning.

Hmmm..SYM must either NOT be dead, or these halls are haunted.

I am sure that JM understands what I am saying.

ah, i think that scayde and dw have the picture. i'm sure that aegis and fable will read this post soon, and it will be my last. the past little while on this forum has been an enlightening time. there's a lot to reflect on. i've learned a lot from the likes of fable and ce, had some banters with aegis, had some fun with bs, frogus, kayless and ned. it seems that the whole forum has a different sort of attitude, maybe it's always been the same and i've just changed, who knows, at any rate, good bye gamebanshee. maybe one day i'll be bored or curious and take a look, but don't count on it.

Well i am still around, and even i say this place is looking like the graveyard district. But work is seriously cramping my social life. So forget about anything on the net. Let work die down, or even better yet let me get some net access at home and then i will be around more.

Let me guess James Mason is a multi-nick?

Indeed.
Well I'd like to say I'll be waiting with baited breath... but I generally try to avoid insincerity.

@CM.. Yes he is a multi-nick. One that seems to just keep on returning, sort of like the effect of beans on the second, third, forth.... time around...
