A paladin wielding FoA would have no problem against Sarevok...but how many paladins do that?

@Bruce: I forgot about that one since it's a bug to get it in the first place. One other that can come close is the Sensate Amulet, but it's Cleric only.

The greenstone amulet of the sword is a bug, and I think a solo paladin could never meet with it (anyway, I think he would have a hard time against the sword!).

Amulet of 10% MR is pretty groovy - especially when you already have protection from level drain with the mace. :p

Further thought on Paladin vs Sarevok: Try casting 4xAoF before the fight. You won't quite get the total invulnerability a level 20 would, but 80% resistance goes a long way. If you have the spell slots, add in AoF #5 for 100% resistance.

Think I may try soloing a Cavalier. How many proficiencies do they get? With 10 I could have: ++ 2-handed, +++ 2-weapon, ++ 2-h sword, + mace, and ++ flail. Would also be nice to work warhammer in there.

I was certain that my lv 17 Keldorn with boots of speed, carsomyr, some helm, ring of Gaxx, armor of the Hart, girdle of hill giant strength, gauntlets of dexterity could beat Sarevok single handedly. And I only used his own protections and stuff that only Keldy could do. Well, I sent Keldy at him and off we go. With Protection from evil. Keldy starts with a couple of criticals and one hit around 30, so it's now about 140 damage dealt. Barely injured. Keldy hits him more often than he hits Keldy, and with greater power. But no, when Keldy has about 15% of hitpoints left, he panics and flees. Sarevok is near death. Then I just sent Minsc there, with Crom Faeyr and Skullcrusher, and another pair of boots of speed. Put into berserker rage and it was slice and dice. boom. Sarevok was dead very quickly, althoug he managed to damage Minsc quite heavily. btw, Keldy had ac of -6. So, Sarevok is tough, but not unbeatable. Btw, I just think that a paladin should fight either with a 2-handed weapon or with one weapon and a shield. I think it's more paladinish :D
Centuries ago in England........It was an era of chivalry and magic. The evil Prince John unleashed an iron fist of tyranny upon the people. They called out for a champion.........one man answered that call. His name, was Robin Hood. Fearless in his quest for justice Robin Hood challenged the power of the high warlords. While protecting the helpless and the poor. Willing to face death for what he believed, along with the beautiful, lady warrior, Jaheira, the mighty Minsc, and the wise Keldorn. Robin Hood forged a legend that lives on today in............

Level 17 with haste, Carsomyr, 21 strength, -6 AC, protection from evil I got wasted. I even opened with a 46 pt crit hit and a 28 pt hit. Sarevok must have at least 300 hps and he hits for 15-20 quite often. He was hitting me more times then missing. When I retreated back to my party I had about 10% life left and Sarevok had just gotten past the barely injured mark.</STRONG>
I did that with my solo undead hunter.I used Flail of ages + Belm= 5 att/round unhasted. With the slowing effect of the flail he was down in a few rounds.

I just re-read this and noticed it doesn't add up. Are you sure Keldorn had the Ring of Gaxx?

Armor of the Hart: AC -2
Gauntlets of Dex: +4
Helm (I guess not Balduran or Defense?): +0?
Ring of Gaxx?: +2?
Total: AC -8 or better.
