But if I format it'll erase ALL my stuff right?

Maybe I should burn all my shit on a CD.

Hell I haven't even EVER formatted..so I dunno even how to do it.

Yeah okay on a more serious note, You should considering formatting if this doesnt work, and just start of clean. I'd give it a few days of asking around first tho, trying different things, Im trying to think of a way.....

I'm sure Red Lotus appreciates your compassion Image. But I'm thinking that may work; of course our line of thinking here may be renedered moot if Lotus posts back that he tried it and it didn't work at all. Then I don't know what we're going to do for him.

Yes , formatting erases your entire hard drive, and you'll end up with nothing on it.. before you do it though make sure you have a boot disk for your current OS, theres an option inside of windows to make one if you dont have one, if its windows you're running???

With that kind of luck you could make a killing as a QA tester for a game company Image.

I don't mean to butte in but take some time before you try to reformat.Say 20 to 30 minutes, flinfman or some body else might come up with something.IMHO.

If you have a zip drive back everything up, mp3s, porn, save games, anything you have that you want. I always save the .exe files for programs like AOLIM or ICQ so if you have those save them too. Then locate all the drivers for all the hardware on your system; you may not need them but best to have them all. I'd do an unconditional uninstall first, which effectively zeroes your machine out, then reinstall. But in that case you'd have to reinstall all the drivers in oredr: motherboard, windows, video card, sound card, everything else; which takes hours to do. Did that a few weeks ago and it sucks. I'm not sure how it started though so if you have a restore disk you may try that instead.

if you can hold on for a couple hours more I have a way out of it but I need to call someone who's not here right now. currently I'm at work and I'll get out of here in two hours; I can post up their response about 2 and a half hours from now. Can you wait until then?
