Okay then its ez shit, make a bootdisk after you back everything up ( if you dont already have one, you should) I think in all 98's theres a restart in dos option when you take shut down... When you get to the c prompt
it'll look something like this C:/>
write format c: (or whatever drive you're formatting eg e:. f: etc...)
like this
C:/>format c:
after this some regular diagnosis will go through, and you will come back to the c prompt after its finished.... now you can restart...
with the bootdisk in the a drive...
it should automatically give you a menu of options....
select "start my computer with cd rom support".... after that it will give you the different drive letters , (it will change so read what it says )....
pop in your WIn 98 cd in your cd drive
go
C:/>cd "the letter of your cd drive":
after this type setup:
"the letter of your cd drive":/>setup
this will kick you into another diagnostic (scandisc) and after verifying everything is as it should be, the installation program will start up... thats all just following instructions....

I think thats all you have to do
see what the flin man says, maybe I missed something, Im writing kind of franticly, so it's very possible I skipped a step
yo its well worth a shot.... I herd there was some way to install if you transfered the files from the cds to your hard drive...
like
c:\bg\cd1
c:\bg\cd2
c:\bg\cd3
c:\bg\cd4
And then you run the install
I think thatd save you a cd if you tried
that four folder install was the key for Planescape:Torment for getting around that blasted memory leak that Bioware never friggin' fixed (the bums). From what I remember you created one folder per cd and installed them accordingly during the primary install; not sure of the specifics though. If someone else remembers please post it.
flinfman and Seabass i'm not that technical as you two and i would not have posted a reply ,but at the rate you two were posting it SEEM to me it was snowballing down a hill.If i step on anybodys toes i regret it.

It's not that it was snowballing it's more like we were thinking along the same lines and just posting that fast because we were trying to solve Red's problem. I can't imagine how fast it would have been if we were all on AIM or something. LOL.
