I have been away for a week and more, and have just picked up my email. Gruntboy says they are beautiful peaches, juicey and deliciously furry, but then he qualified this by saying that they remind him of someone dear...and that dear person was not I :(

I would happily return said errant peaches, but I have an attachment showing the Pantless Wonder smiling serenely and enjoying their company...I think they are lost forever.

I am sincerely Sorry :(

This is a horrible turn of events. Normally when a pantless wonder enjoys your peaches, it's cause for great joy - but now I feel great sorrow. Who is the gruntboy who enjoys peaches without knowing who they belong to. What is a gruntboy, and why has he forgotten how delicious Yshania's peaches are? :(

An no, nectarines will not do.

Look, I don't mean to spoil your fun, but do you think it's fair to go on and on about Gruntboy when he's no longer able to reply to your comments due to being banned from this site?

It's not as if he's just gone away or got bored of SYM like other members - he was banned and many people were not happy about that. Don't you remember what happened?

Although I realise you are only remembering him in a friendly jolly way, he still can't reply here so it doesn't seem right to talk about him like this.

Sorry to say this but I've been wanting to mention it for quite a while.

Not to sound curt, or anything, but that's like asking us to not remember an old friend, simply because we don;t see him.

OK, fair enough but how do you think he feels reading things about himself but not being able to reply because he's banned?!

It's not as if he can swoop in with a witty retort because he can't do that.

Why not talk about people who are present?

I could understand if we were slandering him, but I've only seen positive reference to him. Trust me, I know a lot of us would like to see him still around, but just because he can't, doesn't mean we should shut him out completely. He helped make SYM, and as such, will always be part of SYM, whether in body, or thought.

Ahh come now let us ramble. The canuck, although not often, has a good point. It is common to ramble on about those who aren't here. Gruntboy is one of them... Grunty could always email us and call us sons of whores but hey...

Ok im not here to make a point.. I just wanted to be a part of something, and someone else. Love me canada man?

If he doesn't like it, he can phone me, he has my number as you know. Also, I don't imagine he visits GB since his banning, but still, I am sure he would have no problem, except that he is missing out on the fun.

Do you think I would take the piss out of him and not care?

Yes, point taken Aegis but what I'm trying to say is that I don't think Gruntboy himself would feel very happy about being referred to as though nothing had happened and he was still here like he was in the past.

Things are different now. He can still see the site, (although he doesn't lurk here as far as I know) but he can't participate.

When he was banned last year, it was very sad - for him and for many people here. What I'm trying to say is there's still a certain element of sadness when he's referred to now because of what happened and why he can't be here now.

It certainly makes me feel sad.

Edit: Yshania: I never suggested anyone was taking the piss. It's just that life carries on here as normal on SYM when things have in fact changed. He is no longer here but you talk about him as though he were! If you think he's not visiting this site, I really don't understand why you continue to talk about him like he were?

He would not phone you and say he didn't like it but that doesn't mean to say it makes him happy. I think as far as he's concerned, his SYM days are over now and he doesn't see what's written here unless I point it out to him.

Well, you said it yourself, it was a year ago. People do move on, and SYM does the same. That doesn't mean we ignore the fact things have changed, we've just adjusted to his missing presense.

Do people move on though?

Yes, the ramblings about various SYM members who are no longer here is just nostalgic talk in a way but unfortunately there aren't enough new members for people here to have fun with now and the conversation turns to what happened in the past.

Does SYM want to live in the past?

Life always carries on, no part is greater than the whole, but many parts have a function in the machine and Gruntboy is a big part of the machine that birthed SYM. I always talk about him like he is here, because to me he is an integral part in spirit. I am sure he would be amused by this conversation.

Why shouldn't life carry on as normal? I was upset to see Grunty go, I was on the phone to him that same night trying to work out what the hell happened. I called him an idiot for reacting the way he did, in essence he admitted this, and such he went gracefully.

Life does go on, it has to in order to learn and grow. I am sure he learned from the experience as we all did.
