@ScardyBob: Famous last words. :p We shall see...

BTW, I know you didn't mean any harm, but I kind of feel like my characters are being roleplayed for me in your post. Not that you roleplayed them wrong or anything...it just doesn't seem that roleplaying them as you did adds to what you were going for with your character. Personally, I'd prefer to write their reactions myself. In this sort of situation, I think something that might have worked well would have been to have their attention drawn to what was going on, perhaps by taking their perspective and showing the situation through their eyes. That way, you avoid any unnecessary roleplaying, but you ensure that I'm forced to react to the situation in my next post. Just a tip from a guy who's been doing this sort of thing for a long time. :) Hope I don't sound like I'm contradicting what I said earlier. If anyone's confused as to what I am/was getting at, give a shout and I'll see if I can clarify.

@Aegis: Understood. I'll see if I can come up with something.

@Magus sorry about that, I can delete if you want? I was trying to give a feeling a distrust between everyone else and my character. I figure not many people are going to trust a stranger controlling the dead :)

@ScardyBob: Nah, no need to delete it. But I might rewrite their reactions a bit when I post. Hmm...let me see if I can explain what I'm feeling. I don't mind you having my characters distrust Gidim...I'm more bothered that you go further and write Aerie and Void's reactions for me. I suppose it's less about what you write, and more about how you write it. I think you could have accomplished the same thing without characterizing my characters for me. Read back through some of the posts in this thread where I play other people's characters, and notice how I go about doing it. I roleplay their characters only as much as I need to to set up and further the situation, and I speak for them only as much as is absolutely necessary. Also remember that each person is different in how far you can go in roleplaying their character. I suspect I'm just especially sensitive. ;)

Since my character has an affection towards the undead I've been trying to read up on the different kinds. There are some seriously evil and dangerous ones out there. Maybe we could meet one in our adventure sometime......

Also since I'm relatively new to this stuff, I was wondering if anyone had some good links or information on the various undead, demons, gods, planes, or anything else of any importance. I've been searching around, but its hard to differentiate between the useless and important stuff. Any help would be appreciated. :)

Try looking on the Wizards of the Coast site. They hold the Forgotten Realms license. Also, try doing a search on the 3rd Edition D&D Monster's Manual. I have a .pdf of Volo's Guide to All Things Magical, if you want me to bring that in/e-mail it to you. It covers magical items, especially well-known magical artifacts. That's where I got my info for the Crown of Horns. ;)

Well, I started writing that post, anyway. I'll see if I can finish it tomorrow. I'm too tired now. :p

I'm feeling this weird pseudo-inspiration tonight, so I think I'll try and get something posted. Started, at least.

The current status is Magus is too busy to post as much as he would like. :p Not to worry...I don't intend to abandon the story or anything. As long as you guys are here to reply, I'll always have something to post that I should have gotten up days ago. ;) As to when my next post will be...it'll be when I have time. No point in making a promise I may or may not be able to keep. :) Sigh...this cycle of excuses always seems to happen when I DM.

On a different tangent, I just got my Internet working again. Damn computers...

I've been thinking, and I've come to a conclusion. This is a story that I want to continue...but not at the moment. I lack the motivation and I lack the time. It's selfish of me, I know, but I felt I owed it to you guys to come out and say it and not just disappear as I have for a while now. I could give excuses...pressure at school...too much formal fiction writing and critiques of such writing for my English class...and perhaps, lately, just a lack of motivation to do anything at all. Regardless, I feel it's something that will pass, and I'd be happy to gather those still interested and start where we left off when that time comes. I hope you guys can forgive my failings, and perhaps can sympathize with how I feel.

Cheers to you all. :) And sorry. :o

Ah. Thanks for the explanation, and the compliment. :) I'll see what I can do. Like I said, part of my writing lethargy stems from the fact that I've been writing 10 pages a week for school. That doesn't exactly leave me motivated to write more in my free time on top of that. Next quarter I won't have that particular problem, but my schedule will be unbelievably tight, if it stays as it is. I have a week and a half break coming up soon during which I could write, but it seems kind of pointless to start the story up for a week again if there's a good chance I'm just going to drop it again as soon as classwork piles up. I'll just have to see what happens. If worse comes to worse, and myself and others are still motivated, there's always the summer, during which I'll certainly have free time to burn.

BTW, I've still been busy writing...just for English instead of this story. Most of it's been story critiques for others, though I did write my own. It's a literary short story [i.e. "intellectual" ], but I did manage to put in a shameless plug for fantasy and RPG's. :D Somehow Planescape: Torment even found its way in there... :p

I wouldn't mind sharing it, if that's what you mean. ;) The title is Memory's Burden, and it's about...well, I won't spoil what it's about. Part of the satisfaction of reading it comes from figuring that out. :p Anyway, I put a lot of effort into it, and I just finished the revision today. But don't expect too much. I'm no professional by any means. :) If you're interested, give me your e-mail (here or by PM) and I'll send it to you as a Word attachment. I wouldn't want to mess up the formatting by cut and pasting it. It's about 16 pages, double spaced and in Courier type. If not, that's fine too. I've got plenty of real-life friends and family to force it on whether they like it or not. :D
