Though I must admit, I had some difficulty resisting the temptation to point out that I know of at least 3 people here who are actually older than I am!

still..."gaming for life" does put u in a peculiar group,ill give u that...u complete the hard/main quest and u brag to someone that gives u 2/3 blings and stares at you

I got the GOTY edition, and it did come with a paper map, which I didn't think was detailed enough, so I got the humongous strategy guide. And those maps are not exactly helpul, in my opinion anyway. The map really did not help me when I hit Balmora, and in case you cannot guess, I am a total newbie. Or as you guys here at GB say, a noob.

I didn't start playing RPGs until I hit about 30, and I'm female. I started with BG1, and I've really enjoyed the games. I'm so thrilled that I found Morrowind. I am really enjoying Morrowind; it really is like nothing I have played before. I love the freedom in the game.

My ten year old son thinks my games are cool and wants to play them himself; I won't let him play the BG games until he is at the very least 12. My boyfriend is really big into gaming, so he has no problem with my "geekiness". I think I have got him interested in Morrowind. He wants me to play NWN. I'll get to it eventually; I think most of my free time is going to be devoted to Morrowind. He's a total sweetheart and just updated my video card for me; I cannot believe how much better it made my game play in Morrowind and how it really improved the graphics on my computer screen. The depth and texture has really greatly improved with the new video card.

I've played on the computer both BG1 and BG2 with the TOB expansion. Loved them. I've played both Fallouts - awesome games. I also have both IWD games, which I really don't see as CRGPs; those are more like dungeon crawls. And I have The Sims and all it's expansion packs, plus tons of user made downloads for the game. Not sure what category the Sims falls into; I don't think it's a CRPG. My favorite CRPG is Torment.

I've been lurking at the forum for awhile, and I like what I see. You all seem to know a lot about the game, and I don't see any flame wars; I've had my share of flame and forum wars from the Sims "Community"; tough group there. I'm hoping to find a community here where I can post and have fun. Thanks for being so knowledgable and friendly; I appreciate that.

A BIG thumbs up for the information about Abu's Retreat and Mansion; they are beautiful. I needed a house to store things in; after playing the BG games I am a total pack rat.

This is a really nice group here.. people tend to be respectful, mostly, and there is real feeling of community, I have actually met some very good friends at Game Banshee

Agreed. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask 'em. This forum (and several others) are very well attended most of the time, and usually there are people around to provide or find answers, and just to talk about the games we all enjoy, regardless of age.

This is a cool thread, even if it's changed a bit the last few posts...
Talking about all the 'clicks' & stuff that play rpg's, & I've started realizing that I probably -shouldn't- play morrowind. I'm 25, just graduated college, i go to clubs, get drunk, party it up, hit on all the cute sorority girls that I see, and once the night is over & I scurry back home at 5 in the morning, I play morrowind!

Come to think of it, I rarely get around to playing morrowind when I'm sober! Strange....
For the record, I am not encouraging alcohol, and if you're not of legal age you should stay sober! (Am I in the clear now, fable?)

Anyway, my point was this. I've been talking to some buddies of mine, & we've pretty much drawn the conclusion that we will be the first generation to play videogames with our kids! (the word 'generation' is loosely defined) Also, what will I do in 50 years when I retire? All retired people have hobbies to keep themselves busy with, whether it's gardening or stamp collecting. Will I play video games when I'm 75? One part of me said of course, while another, more sensible part of me told me that if I try to play the videogames of 2050 when I'm 70-some, i'll die of a heart attack sometime during the first level...

They'll probably have games in 7D by then!

Anyway, that's a long enough rant...

LOL! As the legal age goes as low as 5 in some cultures, I'm sure we're all of the legal age, here.

What's youth for, anyway? Enjoy it. Make of it a fine bauble you can pull out later in life and look at and smile.

Maybe so. I'm 53, and I started reviewing these games for magazines back in 1986. Played my first video game on a mainframe in 1980. I budget my time and don't play that much; I have got my hobbies and interests, including reading, music, sex, etc. One thing that allows me to play: I haven't watched television in 14 years. That makes a big difference in your life.

Really? I think there is at least 33 people here older then me who play Morrowind. But fear not. If everyone quit playing games because they were the oldest age, then a chain reaction would happen and that people would stop playing games at the age of 6.

I have often fantasized about the prospect of getting together with a few people whose collective skills combine creative writing and technical ability in order to create mods and the like. But unfortunately this would require considerable time and cash *sigh*
