Sarevok, you're pathetic...................
Minsc, in BG1 kick sarevok's ass nearly single handedly, ripped him apart.
And now this:
okay, so i gave minsc a const and dex point in that lum mad machine, i had them duel.
Sarevok's got nearly the highest proficieny you can get, 5 in two handed, 2 in two handed style, and wield's a +5 psion blade.
minsc, on the other hand, has 2 proficieny slots in two sword style, and i think a few in long swords. he's got the answer +4 and foebane +5
Minsc is also 3 levels underneath sarevok in my party.i reloaded after this because of the negative armor effects the answer had.
Well, anyway, Minsc, who had about 30 hps less, i had him used armor of faith, then hardiness (the results may be cumulative, i'm not sure) and critical strike. Sarevok, got hardiness and deathblow.
the two duel it out, no potions.
Minsc kick his ass 3 levels under, and kicked his ass as a level 5 beserker in BG1
neverhtelss, sarevok is extremely useful, as he is my second best tank, anomen my third (he's a low level fighter, a pretty good cleric though, even if his wisdom is rather low.)
I had them

Without calculating anything - I'd say, try running it again - without Minsc getting Critical Strike - that makes a huge difference

Very poor test. As has already been said, Deathblow isn't going to have any effect whatsoever on Minsc; it's worthless. And Critical Strike means Minsc is doing double damage with every hit. Your favoratism for Minsc is quite clear, and I think you tipped the scales in his favor because you wanted him to win. Even the odds, and then try again. I like Minsc a lot, but toe-to-toe, Sarevok will rip him apart.

Cartoon Law III
Any body passing through solid matter will leave a perforation conforming to its perimeter. Also called the silhouette of passage, this phenomenon is the speciality of victims of directed-pressure explosions and of reckless cowards who are so eager to escape that they exit directly through the wall of a house, leaving a cookie-cutout-perfect hole. The threat of skunks or matrimony often catalyzes this reaction.

ah crap! you're right!
about the deathblow, it barely did anything, i guess i shoul'dve read the description more carefully *shrugs*
anyway, I had the same exact test cept the critical strike + deathblow i didn't use it at all. Sarevok won the first one (deathbringer assualt) and minsc won the second one. Both were actually extremely close.

Try using just plain old armor and swords, no enchantments at all. That is the only fair way to do it. No jewlry, shoes, etc. IMO Seravok will win because of his oh so cheesy deathbringer assault or whatever.
