I heard, that half-elves can breed, they are just unstable. If they mate with an elf - the child is an elf, if they with human - the child is human.

Half-orcs should have been able to romance Viccy, but they don't due to incorrect definition of their race (mix up in the resources, Viccy is looking for HALFORC, the characters are marked as HALF_ORC.) Patch is available at Baldurdash.

I heard any percentage of non-Elven blood (however small) means you're Half-Elven at best.

Supposedly barbarian tribes co-exist peacefully with orcs, and many half-orcs occur in said tribes.
In the original Warcraft there was a half-orc half-elf assassin.

For half-orcs:

Dad is an orc, Mom is a human = probably a product of successful orc raids, ergo, "spoils of war"

Mom is an orc, Dad is a human = a product of too much alcohol on Dad's part "Geez...(hic!) Grishnakka... you (hic!) look wonderful (hic!) tonight..." if not, then Dad must have been one MIGHTY DEPRAVED dude!

On the other hand, if you are Tolkienish about it, aren't orcs supposed to be elves corrupted into Morgoth's service? If so, then they must belong to the same specie but of a different race.

Oh yeah, Elrond Half-Elven had twin sons and a daughter (Arwen).

His daughter eventually became Aragorn's (Ellesar) wife.

BTW, a half orc and a half elf would produce a quarter orc, quarter elf, and half human. Therefore it's possible to imagine this... maybe somebody like the Beast in "Beauty and the Beast"?
