Why are dragons so easy?
I take it that you tried Gruntboy?
There are men that will come on to anything with legs... sigh.
I just wanted to react to everybody calling me and my brother a cheater for selling wands of cloudkill and then buying them back fully charged.
Think of marketing, if you're a merckeant and somebody sells you a wand of cloudkill with one charge you will try to recharge it because you can ask a lot more for it if you try to sell it again. Makes perfect sence to me, I don't think it's a bug.
And cloudkill is just a nasty sneaky spell if you ask me. At first I couldn't even handle it, much like fireballs, because I've got a hack and slash party that's always in the line of fire.
Being sneaky is a tactic, it's a bit of a coward's tactic, I'll give you that, but it's still a tactic.
I don't think Dragons are too easy to kill. First of all, you have to think a bit about your tactic before it will work. And second, I think that for this game they were intended to get whooped. In real RPG they're probably a lot harder to kill but the programmers wanted to keep this game exciting. If you want to make an exciting RPG, put dragons in it, they boost sales.
I've never played the P&P RPG's, but isn't it a lot harder to get to the higher levels than in a computer game? That way dragons stay a challenge.

As they say, opinions are like arseholes, everybody has one. So, there is mine (opinion):
Never played PnP RPG, so I couldn't tell the difference. Fact is, dragons ain't easy (no sir, they ain't, ask poor Minsk - AND Boo - and poor Jaheira, both died when I first killed Fierkraag) but they ain't *that* hard to deal too (I slammed the shadow draggie with incredible ease, only Korgan was hit a bit but recovered soon).
Haven't tried the silver draggie yet. Is he harder than Fierkraag? If yes, well, it is going to be really challenging. Even if my party is now averaged at lvl 15.

About those wands. No, That is not Cheating,1 you have to pay for a wand that have being recharge. 2 wands in AD&D 2nd are reacharge by casting the spells on them(wand of magic missiles by casting magic missile on the wand)some thing that the game does not allowed.
Dragons aren´t easy, but due to some bugs in the game they can be easy to kill. I tried the wand of cloudkill and the dragon come afther me kicking my elven ass all the way. The way I kill one I surrended one put aerie away from the way, start to hit him, have areire cast "lower magic resistance" twice, a "dispell magic" and a "remove magic protection" and shower him whit "magical missiles",my figther who were surrended him were knock out by the wing buffet but since I had Minsc hiting on his tail he didn´t use the fire breath attack on my knock all over his lair fighters, funny thing before he gone down he turn yellow and I have to chase him for delivering the killing blow. Easy, not,but they can be killed

Are you standing outside the dragon's line of sight? It worked for me. (I'm a coward, run away and live to fight another and that stuff )

Is there an option to kill the silver dragon, if yes, does it have any sweet shit to loot... or is it just a macho thing you know, "Thats right, I killed all the dragons in BG II, including the silver one".... Cuz I might wanna fight it this time around....
one more thing.. I was going to try out the infamous kensai/mage shit.... at what level is most effective to dual at?... and is there any requirements in strength , intelligence, and so forth??? New to duallin, and killing silver dragons....

The Shadow Dragon was, admittedly, easy. I don't even think I had to reload. Firkraag was another story. His fire breath attack repeatedly destroyed my high level (probably above 15) party. His wing buffet continually thwarted my aims to surround and kill him quickly, before he could do the firebreath. Eventually I got him, but it took quite a change in tactics, and a lot of luck.

The leather armor from the silver lady's blood is really cool, but only made for true evil characters (not non-good). It's sure one of the best non-metallic ones in the game.
If you play an evil party IMO role-playing includes attacking her but even if you're good and mess up her egg-stealing-drows-quests you'll have to fight her...

I don´t kill dragons because it´s a dragon, Silvars are lawful good(But this one is so arrogant) so killing one is something I am unwilling to do(like letting pride take the best of me and kill the green one in hell). If you are playing a evil path, well... killing creatures that serve good it´s something that won´t keep you from sleep at night.

Then it is supposed to be easy! What are you complaining about? Slide it to hard and see if that suits you better.Originally posted by XtraniuM:

Well I hope later on in ad&d gaming there should be some type of godly dragon. Maybe the leader of dragons. I don't know too much on ad&d gaming since BG2 is my first. But someday they wiuld have to incorporate a foe so powerful it would be next to impossible to defeat. By the way I passed BG2 with mage and currently upto suldanesselar with my fighter can anyone tell me another good character to go through the game with.
