I'm really enjoying my Kensai at the moment [dual-weilding long swords->haste->food blender-style mayhem!] but fancy dualling to a mage at some point soon...
wondered what everyone's opinion was re. best level at which to switch - 9? 12?
If you have ToB installed, it might be more interesting to dual at level 13, so you can have one extra proficiency, an extra half-attack, and you can still reach lvl 28 as a mage, which is the level at which you have all the High Level Spells, and you stop gaining spells per day after that.

This is what I've be weighing up... impatience to start spell casting... half an eye on exp. maximums... but not wanting to get up to the high levels and be wishing I'd got just that bit extra hp/attacks/proficiencies...
i am just about to go kill bodhi in chapter 6 and still got a few major quest to do (Haer'Dalis' and Nalia's and some more) and i am a 24 fighter/ 28 Assassin

7 with SoA (9 if you're patient), 13 with ToB (the game is a long one).
Make sure you save a bunch of scrolls for your future mage, and kick everybody out of the party before you scribe all of your scrolls (you want mega XP, and this is probably the easiest way to get it).
