Final battle oddities?

Post by iamweaver »

OK - strange things seem to be happening... Just to play around a bit, I had debuffed the heck out of Sendai and confused her (only way I can keep her from porting). In 3 rounds, Minsc, balthazar and Keldorn did over 700 HP of damage to her - for the last 2 rounds she continued to read "near death". Are some of the bhaalspawn unkillable?

i don't have acension but I guess you need to kill the bhaal spawns in some kind of order or maybe try to get away from Sendai and she can have some script death like demogorgon...........

Well, I still have no idea what caused that - maybe I didn't see her contingencies firing, or some such? Thought I looked rather carefully - ahh, well. The 3rd go-around with the additional help was the charm, after - err - about 6 hours :) . (spoilers, maybe)

I whacked all but YS and Mell, but since Yaga-Sura is so slow and annoying, I tried to continue to work around him, and kill Mellisandra first, which was - bad. I ended up with no offensive spells left and no hi-level protection-stripping spells, but thru happenstance found that her character is *passive*, so once I was a reasonable distance from her, she became static. I went through 2 fully-charged monster-summoning staves keeping YS busy while I plunked away with the +4 throwing axe, the Gesen bow and Everard's sling - that took about 3 hours, carefully keeping myself out of his Sunfires and out of range of Mell (plus I had ta stir the spaghetti sauce every 5 mins or so - food > all, hehe). Then I spent about 15 minutes verifying that Mell casts Death Spell as an innate, no-cost ability, used regenning toons to wear down her cast spells, and ended up playing hit-and-run through her weapon immunities/blade barriers until I found that JI's necklace is NOT a charged item :) . At that point, the final battle was trivial. That also explained why killing him earlier was such a pain...

Anyway - thanks all for the helpful advice and tips during the latter part of my trip through Faerune. It was sad saying farewell to the NPCs I had journeyed with since Candlekeep - at least 70 days, off and on - but the Ascension/Redemption mods were a wonderful sendoff. Good luck to those of you who continue to fiddle and prod at this marvelous online RPG!
