The game is ok and it feels boxed up and not allot of open space, but thats all based on my opinion, I like open space.
Now why does that seem like deja vu? ;)
Got it in one. :D So many publishers with no understanding of the gamers do just that. They think we're all a bunch of mindless idiots, and that the way to increase our numbers is just to turn a good PC product into a Nintendo clone. When this doesn't work, they go out of business...and the lemmings who made the bad decisions usually end up in other companies, where they get to make the same bad executive decisions. True, this is overly cynical as an assessment, but I've seen it happen too often to suggest that this is only an occasional problem.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Spoilers contained within

IW was a very fun game the first time through, allowing for the quirks to allow it to move to a console (like a serious removal of strategy elements--same think that killed Rainbow Six for the console...) and the universal ammo thing--that one really bugged me for a LONG time. It could've been SO much more involved. The abandoned VersaLife facility really had potential. The dark atmosphere and deadly creatures lurking about sent visions of every scary space movie I've seen. In reality, there were, what, a half dozen greasels and one korkian? Was there a dreaded red greasel ANYWHERE in the game???

I do agree though, that the original is in my top five and this one (while far from in the bottom five) is not exactly the game of games for me. I felt it did retain enough of the original elements to keep me interested in the story and the ultimate outcome. However, it did NOT have the same feel for the whole Denton clan as the original. In the first, the Denton brothers were the epitome of all that was good. In the retrospect of IW, the end of the original possibly wasn't as great an idea as it seemed then... Also, which was really actually a good twist, the ending wasn't as clear-cut as the first (you pretty much knew which path would do what then). This time, I honestly didn't feel the Denton's route was the best option. Personally, Jankowski's idea of just letting the world continue as is sounded best to me--followed by an "Oh, crap" as soon as the cutscene started. For another spoiler, I felt the Illuminati route (my second choice) was actually the best (if you want to call it that--none of them were ideal this round).

Bottom line: Great game in and of itself--especially for a console game. A rather shabby sequel, though.

I think the reason nobody is posting much is because, unlike many other rpgs, this one is really straightforward and the only real thing that one can have difficulty with is actually clearing an area (as in, killing all the enemies). Besides, opinions aren't really neaded in this game, since you are, after all, trying to complete objectives however you want. What I like about this game is that they've done that so well, in that you really can tackle a situation in as many ways as you can think up.

Under the influence (again),

I guess the developers thought that biomods would be close enough to skills to pass in the eyes of us hardcore RPG-ers (how wrong they were) :D

Deus Ex 2 was terrible. Can't even remember where I stopped or most of the game unlike Deus Ex 1 from which I got a lot of fond memories.
