*MY* roleplaying characters
Ok, I've always wanted to play Morrowind in a roleplayingly-ish fashion (which is by the way pretty hard [for me at least] after the low-levels are over since after the character becomes even a bit more powerful --> munchkin but that's off topic) and yeah, my
first sketch was a drunken master. With the help of the monk plugins and using all those Flins, Maztes and Sheins it was pretty fun for a while but I personally think the H2h skill rose too quickly so I came up with another sketch:
Nord Mage. As we all know, Nord are not the most favourite spellcasters (excluding the necromancer in Dagon Fel in his lonesome tower ). This Nord is called either Vilfnur/Thjodhild Strongmind (I'm leaning towards female, more willpower ). And the last name is due to the fact that the whole family is mostly spellcasters, rare that it is.
MAJOR:
Alteration
Desctruction
Restoration
Unarmored
Illusion
MINOR:
Blunt weapon (staffs, like every self respecting mage has)
Conjuration
Mysticism
Alchemy
Now the last one is a bit tricky. Usually I always put Acrobatics as a minor skill, because
1) it is easy to improve as the character gains levels (e.g. jump in towns)
2) it is strength-related (put strength points, when levelling)
But I don't know whether I should use acrobatics at all. But I hate having no jumping skills at all. So you guys could help me with the last minor skill. I don't use enchant at all, I don't like that skill.
So what do you think of this Nord mage concept? Any ideas? Thanks.

Well as for looking that thing on roleplaying factor.. SHORT BALDE.. um Blade.. too tired to fix things..
Well daggers belong to stereotype of wizard.. as do staffs.. You could make Orc wizard..
How about Athletics... it wont go up fast if you only jump..

ENCHANT, you won't need to jump if you have a good levitate spell or even the Jump and slowfall spells. Enchant is hard to level so you want to start as high as you can. It will help you make, charge, and use enchanted items.. I do also like daggers for my mages, but I only use one weapon still and Blunt is a better choice for a Nord.

I find that a lot of people either play with illusion or conjuration, but not both. My ideal build for a Nord Mage would be:
Intelligence
Luck
Magic
Illusion
Mysticism
Enchant
Unarmored
Alchemy
Destruction
Blunt Weapon
Conjuration
Alteration

quite good but i'd switch alchemy and conjuration around
my reasons simple
A ) conjuration is harder to level up Alchemy is the easiest skill to train up even if you dont cantrip
B ) If you have conjuration as major you start off with several spells which will help you early on

True.. That might actually be better.. I like a high alchemy so I can see what potions do right away.. But it might be better to put conjuration first. I like the ancestor ghost spell you get.

The key word is "train." If you don't have alchemy in your specialized skills, you'll take forever advancing it--unless you pay to train it up pretty well, first.

If you have hundred ingredients just select them all and keep clicking create, this way you can get your alchemy skill level from 5 to 25 in about ten minutes.

If you have an alchemy skill of 5, your chances of making a successful potion are extremely slim. This means no experience as well, and a huge amount of time spent collecting ingredients that will fizzle away. It's less frustrating to either make this a minor skill, or train it up to the level of a major/minor skill, and make potions from that point.

I concur completely. Alchemy is one of those skills I always either select as a major skill, or train up to that level. Otherwise it is a real headache, especially when the ingredients wasted are rare and difficult to obtain.
What you can do though is create potions of restore fatigue and then sell them (I usually find restore fatigue worthless). It seems as though every other ingredient restores fatigue, so it doesn't matter as much when the potion does not succead.

Yeah, I put it as a major or minor skill and find a shop where I can buy two ingredients that are easy and cheap to combine, then I sit there and make/sell the potions and use that money to buy more ingredients.. with a little luck and a good INT, you can level it up pretty fast.
