@Promil: When I first took down the red dragon, I found that the dragonbane longsword wasn't hitting him often, and yet slings were! I'm not sure what was up with that. It does seem to me to be a waste of inventory space to carry around weapons that you can use only a few times in the game. Seems that you really need a caddy following you around with a bag full of weapons, and ask for the one you need to use at the time. :D

About Belm, it did seem to me that it increased the number of attacks I got with my main hand as well, even when my character had no scimitar skill. I seem to remember having as many as 4.5 attacks/round.

About the backstab, isn't it true that as long as you have a thief weapon in your main hand, you can have whatever weapon you like in your off-hand? Yet another bug?

BTW: Why do people always talk about ToB in the SoA forum? :)

1) Bag of holding :D :D :D
2) Belm and weapons that add att/rnd add the attack to your main hand (your off hand will always have only 1 att./rnd) and they work even if you don't have prof. point, but in that case you wan't hit much with your off-hand attack.
3) Unless you have UAI a thief can't equip a non thief weapon both main hand and off hand (but I never tryed the bug you are describing).

Are you sure people aren't talking about Fighter/Thieves in this case? Or high level thieves with UAI, like lompo said?

"Great Weapons nobody ever used?"

First, I'm pretty sure every (magical, off course!) weapons have been used once. I would say that the followings weapons are really underestimated (But I agree they aren't "Uber" weapons :
- Daggers
- Clubs
- Darts
- Throwing Dagger

Look at this party :

- Beastmaster using Clubs & scimitars (There's a few good ones, but only "few" and "good", not "plenty" and "über")
- Fighter/Thief using Daggers/Throwing Daggers (could be dual-classed, so 5 stars in Daggers, 1 (or 2) in Sword and Shield)
- Fighter/Mage using Darts

Would you take such party's menaces serious??? The only one you could really "fear" would be the fighter/mage... because he still get access to magic missile even if he's a looser!

P.S. I may play this party for a little challenge... would be nice to see through Tactics... LOL

Don't underestimate darts!.... because... well...um... alright, go ahead and underestimate them...

The Answerer +4 is really good! c'mon, it lowers magical resistance fgs!

I dunno why, but I nmever used Sword of Chaos +2, even though it's a great weapon!

I never use The Answerer because I usually have The Sword of Angurvadal by the time I get it of General Tombelthen.

Is General Tombelthen the same man as Lord Tombelthen (Ranger Stronghold quest) in SoA?

I use the Sword of Chaos until I find something better, which is usually Carsomyr, which I like to get ASAP.

According to the GB walkthrough, you get the Answerer from a guy called Torbelthen, while the Ranger quest comes with a lord Tombethen. I haven't checked the spelling in-game though. :)

You'll notice that a FM using darts will hit a lot, the only problem it has is lack of ammo. F/T using daggers or T daggers are a must have if you plan on disrupt mage spellcasting melee. Equip them with some of the insane daggers in the game and watch the enemies die with a pocketknife. And there are a few very cood clubs, for example devious pine, she is extremely cheesy. As for scimitars, dont make me laugh - water talon, rash talon, most of them are not ubber but have very cool bonuses.

I dont really think there are bad weapons, I just think that some monsters are too ubber. Why a mummy needs a +3 weapon to be killed? I wish I could enjoy the whole game with a Varscona, or Arbane as main weapon, and to feel the need for a ubber +3 or +4 weapons only against the really nasty one baddies.
Flesh to stone ain't permanent, it seems.
