Currently playing this party :
This is a really good (evil?) party up to now..killing most foes really fast. I often send Korgan alone to do the dirty work (with Stonefire and Frostreaver) ... he's an amazing tank! He killed 100% of the monsters from De'Arnise and Astral Prison : That's amazing... killing TorGal and the Master of Thrall by himself... alone... at lvl 13!.
yah, Korgan is a great tank - I love the 2 axes elemental damage set up on him too. Plus the Berserker rage is incredible and makes him immune to almost everything - he can kill Kangaxx alone if he has a high-enchantment weapon. I don't really use "a fighter" anymore, but the evil party with Korgan, evil TOB NPC guy, Viconia, Edwin and your PC (I used a half-orc F/T and added Haer Dalis) is an incredible party to play.
Actually speaking of evil, I am trying a 2 member party with Viconia (changed to M/C) and the PC, a chaotic evil elven F/M/T. The idea is that they are evil elf assassin girls hunting Irenicus because he separated them. I dunno. Anway, I wanted to try some different spells, so they are using lots of vampiric touches and stuff, lightning instead of fireballs, lots of holds and confusion, and web/spiders/free action.
It's going pretty well so far, I did the slaver quest and got the thieves' guild stronghold and Lilacor, now they are going to try D'Arnise or Trademeet. I'm a little scared of the finale at D'arnise, I don't think my girls are tough enough yet.
The tactics have been working well and it's a nice change from what I've done before - like in Mae-var's guild, my PC stealthed into Mae-Var's gang in the basement, with a fire-shield blue up, hasted, and prot from electricity, and backstabbed one of the archers. Meanwhile, Viconia cast greater malison on the group from down the hall. The second the malison hit, my PC fired the wand of lightning, sending 6 bolts of lightning ricocheting every direction in the little basement. Viconia cast a hold, then next round a confusion, while my PC kept hacking them up and shot the lightning again. The malison is good with lightning or fireballs because less enemies will make their save for half-damage.
So by the end of the third round, they were all dead except for two guys who were confused, malisoned, and badly injured....not bad
With a two person party, experience goes up quickly but they don't have very much money or good equipment yet, since I am not exploiting any potion of master thievery deals and their reputation is a little low. My PC actually is still using a nonmagical weapon some of the time (nonmagical katana for backstabbing). Can't wait to get Celestial Fury.
has anyone played a two person party much? I get too lonely soloing, and I think the mechanics of the game work well for two - you have lead and support.
