Edwin's little problem...(spoiler)
Edwin's little problem...(spoiler)
It's been weeks since I got the Nether Scroll for Edwin, and still no change into Edwina. What's going on?
Lost Souls: A bereft lover. A masterless familiar. Friends gone their separate ways. Time marches on, and destiny heralds the meeting of comrades old and new. Can they find what they're seeking? Or will the search bring them only more pain?
What did you say to him when he first got the scroll, if I remember correctly, the quest stuff up if you said it's party treasure or something.
Try these: CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("EdwinScroll","GLOBAL",1)
CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("ScrollStudy","LOCALS",1), with your mouse over Edwin; or try setting this to 2

That's exactly what I said! Why would that stop him from studying it? As I remember, he said I could say all I want, but if I touched it I would die.
Also, which of those two CluaConsole commands do I use?

Both, the first one set the timer to 1, so the dialogue will start straight away, like for romances. The second one set the condition needed - local at 1 or 2. Actually, set ScrollStudy to 2. So when you're in the game type CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("ScrollStudy","LOCALS",2), with the mouse over Edwin, and then type CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("EdwinScroll","GLOBAL",1); you should get the dialogue leading to him turning to a woman.
Thanks, Sabre. I'll try that in the morning.

I copied and pasted exactly what you wrote down, with my cursor over Edwin for both commands, just in case, and it didn't work. The dialogue is supposed to occur instantly, right?

Sorry, I'm still inexperienced with the CLUAConsole. I think I figured out what I did wrong. I thought you had to have the cursor over Edwin, when you actually had to have him selected. I'm pretty sure it will work now. Thanks for your help, Sabre.

Or not...
Okay, I'm dumb. Could someone give me indepth instructions on how to input this damn code? I've got debug mode enabled, and I know how to bring up the CLUAConsole window. Beyond that...I don't know a whole lot. I've tried everything I can think of. Could someone PLEASE help?

Sorry for taking so long to reply.
Firstly, two questions:
- What chapter are you in?
- Are you outdoors?
The quest will not continue if you're in chapters 4, 5 and 7; it will also not continue if you're in a dungeon.
Ok, now to the codes. Load up your game, make sure that you are outside, and are in chapters 2, 3 or 6. Select Edwin, and leave your cursor over him, pause the game and press CTRL + SPACE, then type in:
CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("ScrollStudy","LOCALS",2)
and press ENTER. Next, clear what you have just typed, and type in:
CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("EdwinScroll","GLOBAL",1)
and press ENTER. Now Unpause the game and the dialogue should start straight away.

I was in Brynnlaw when I first tried it. Now I'm in the Asylum. That must be why it didn't work. Oh well, guess that means I'll have to wait til after the Underdark. Thanks once again, Sabre.

No problems, I don't understand why the game put those restrictions for quests like this one. I can see why they put it for Jaheira's quest for example, since you need access to certain places to do the quest. But for Edwin's, you don't need to go anywhere, so why does what chapter you're in matter? (Just my thoughts on the way the game works)

Because the conclusion of the quest involves another mage whom you "just happen to run into" at several locations in town. It makes sense, there, but it wouldn't make sense if you encountered him in a dungeon.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

soon, the world will be taken over by bunnies, so be nice to them!
Sailor Moon is the champion of love and justice, so no matter how many great weapons you have, you will still be defeated, because no matter how many times you kill her, she will always come back, so watch it!

To "find" this scroll, you must have Edwin in your party. When you first enter the Graveyard District with him, all will become clear.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...
What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Nether Scroll Quest
I ended up finding the scroll after looking around some more, but I didn't go have him talk to the desperate elf at the C.C, that sounds like it should be fun...but thanks again for the info anyways!
