Maybe, maybe not ;)

@Rav okay, we got the timing-thing sorted out, somehow at least.
What do you think, how should we organize the throwing of dice? Should DM do it to every player or should players do it themselves?

Ooh! I notice your sarcasm...and ignore it completely! :D :D ;)

Hi wats. Bringing more light to the SF? :p

@Kip, think it's the DM's responsibilty with the dice. Lucky you... :p ;)

oh yeah right, :p

yeah it has to be the DM's job to throw the die/dices since players might cheat even though you agree you won't.. but think about it.. in a very tight spot if the alternatives would be death or success you'd amazingly roll a 20 ;)

@Rav well, there are situations where it's not. But the question is, do we (or I) trust player enough to let them throw themselves :D

So it's decided, DM throws the dices.
Should it be implified to character creation also?
Cause normally aren't those numbers thrown. Or that's how I have understood it.

If you don't then YOU have a problem

yes you throw the 6dice three times for each stat(if you hit 18 for str as a melee char you also roll the 10die twice for the 18/XX stat, first throw is the first number etc.. like you throw a 5 and a 6, you'd get 18/56 as str..)

but you could use smth like BG for char creation..

I don't they are thrown. More set at the beginning. E.g. Hitpoints are the full hit die for the class (10 for a fighter) plus CON bonus as I understand it.

You could do it that way, or let people decide the stats themselves as long as distribute them correctly.
If you don't then YOU have a problem

You don't even trust yourself? :D

hit points are thrown also.. if you have a hit die of 10, you throw the 10die and add the con bonus to that.. so if you suck at luck you might end up with a fighter that has 4hp at lvl 1

yes but the best part is that the different stats really matter.. for instance int lower than 9 and you won't be able to speak correctly etc, and high char can help alot..

hmm but there has to be a limit how many points you can distribute unless you're using the 3.5 or smth rules that give you certain amount of points and you can only get that good stats really..

This is up to you Kip. You can let people have the max. HP by taking the full hit die + CON and choosing stats or roll the die for them. :p

Scary... :D

I think those hitpoints can be the max. But stats will be thrown, more fun that way.

Weren't there similiar problem in IWD1? I remember at least those kind of situations.

Luckily in IWD2 first casters came when you were a high enough to actually be able to make the save :)
