Actually, I think it should have been done this way:
You should have race selected, then you throw dices. If your race has penalty to str i.e 2, then you throw 3d6-2, and if the race has bonus to dex, ie 2, then you throw 3d6+2.
This would make more sense to mee. But the result is same if you first thow then subtrack/add to those points.
And what I know/have heard, the way I made it is more "realistic", cause in real life you haven't either got chance to affect how intelligent you were when born or how strong
Have you sorted out the XP for the campaign? Depending on the size of the party you'll need bigger groups of monsters to provide reasonable challenges, that kind of thing.
Most of those things must be done when we know how many players we have. I will adjust all quest-xp and those when we know that.
