The Mudcrab has 10k but only buys weapons and armour as far as I can remember.

What I used to do was this:

I'd sell items of lesser value to Creeper until so the total sold was the same value as the expensive item I want to sell. I then sell the item and buy the lesser value items at the same time to keep the total value sold at around 5000 gold pieces. I'd then wait 24 hours and start selling off the items I bought but don't want. If any item is more than 5000 gold pieces I'd simply just use the same method to sell them as I did with the first item so effectively I'm just swapping the expensive stuff for lots of cheaper items so they add up to the same total value then sell the cheaper items back and repeating when necessary.
the mudcrab buys potions but this was on xbox useing the intel potion trick makeing potions that cost 10000gp each easy money
