The Early Morning, Drinking Coffee, Feeling Grumpy Thread

Post by Chanak »

The title says it all. It's morning, I am drinking coffee, and I am defintely feeling grumpy.

In a similar situation? You're welcome to join me at the dining room table. Some things you should know first:

Cheerfulness will not be tolerated. One happy peep out of you, and I'll press the red button on my chair labeled "Say Hello to Bunny." For those who don't know, Bunny is a 1200 pound crocodilian who inhabits the murky pit beneath my house. Every trap door leads to Bunny...and I have lots of trap doors in my house. :mischief:

There's a bowl of aspirin at the table. Have a headache? Take as many as your stomach can handle. In my case, aspirin is a big part of my breakfast in the mornings these days. Bloody allergies...

Do not prepare food of any kind. That will earn a trip to meet Bunny. I'm drinking coffee, feeling grumpy, and have a headache. Breakfast is coffee and aspirin. That's it. Bah.

Hung over? This is the place to be. Shoot, I could qualify as being hung over, except I only drink alcoholic beverages on rare occasions. So, the hung-over are welcome. The bathroom is to the right of the kitchen table. :D ;)

Witty sayings are welcome, as long as they don't violate the cheerfulness rule. If I detect any cheeriness, you're going to do the backstroke with Bunny.

Okay. There are more ground rules, but I prefer to let those be known later on...preferably as someone violates one of them. :D :mischief: Did I mention that I'm in a grumpy mood?

*finger hovers over Bunny button*

Hmmm...I guess so, Xan. Just behave yourself in a grumpy fashion. And don't badmouth the coffee drinking. :D

Early morning Chan? It's not even early by my time zone, and you're two hours ahead of me :D

However, I still have a coffee pot on the table and am thinking about preparing fresh. As to the grumpiness factor, I can't ever claim to be the bubbly or cheery type, and I still have a cold which is irritating me to no end...so yep..."grumpy" is me.

Does that qualify? :D

This is a thread just suitable for me right now... excluding that it's not morning here

And I'm not drinking coffee (yet), but beer instead. And the aspirin is not good to take with alcohol, isn't it...

But I'm not definately cheerfull at the moment.

This is a perfect thread for my wife. She doesn't wake up until a good hour or more after she wakes up, if you follow me, and she's grumpy as hell. Only thing is, she usually doesn't post. I'll see if I can wake her (she's napping) and ask if she wants to.

*eyes Bunny button* :mischief:

@DW: Harrumph. Colds which irritate you qualify. Okay, you're in, but I better not see any smiles unless they are sardonic or evil in nature.

Morning is when I wake up, at least on the weekends. During the week, it's 4:15 AM for me (subsequently 2:15 AM for you :p ). Like fable's wife, I need about an hour to psych myself up to deal with the world. Without that hour, I'm a bear all day long.

@Kipi: It doesn't have to be morning where you are. It's the spirit of it all that counts. If you're in the sort of mood where you'd cut off your nose to spite your face...or better yet, cut someone else's nose off to spite their face...then this is the place to hang out. And stew. And fume. And mutter. And scowl.

You need to have her engage in some remedial training, clearly. :p

I ended up sleeping in because I had insomia last night. When I woke up my SO had drank two thirds of the pot, I convinced him to prepare fresh :mischief:

@Chan,
I know what you mean. It doesn't matter when I actually wake up, I *always* need at least an hour of fairly undisturbed tranquillity before feeling human enough to be civil.

Darn! Now, I'm grumpy!!!

Morning all... 7.07am local time.

Had freshly brewed coffee prepared. Normally I would have it in my travelling coffee mug (yeah, you guessed it, the metallic-looking one from starbucks  ) as I drink my brew on my way to work and drink between stop lights...

...but for today, I forgot the mug at home!!!

I was too much in a hurry to get to work. >insert rant here< !!!!

I got up at 6:15 this morning, totally hung over and I still feel like crap a couple hours later. Now I have to go to some stupid "welcome to university" assembly where a bunch of boring people are going to talk for hours.

No coffee machine in my room and all I've had for breakfast is a bunch of cheerios.

I think I'm going to see if I can get breakfast before this stupid assembly actually.

What's cheerfulness?

Graffolaggleragglebrackledamnsunshinestuffdoesmyheadingraffolaggleragglebrackle...

*Grabs tea and drinks*
*Grabs aspirin to try getting over his small headache*
Damn headaches...
Damn busjumping...

Sounds like my job.

@Mah: What I truly, truly hate is when I forget to grab coffee at the grocery store on the way home from work, then wake up the next morning...

@fable: I assume you didn't wake your wife up. Good. This is an early morning grumpiness thread, not a "let's watch a hapless individual get dismembered" club. Although that might be mildly entertaining, now that I think about it...

Well I'm very irritable right now. Wading through email spam that slipped by my spam blocker. The only decent thing was laughing at the grammatical and spelling errors. "Your information are out of date" Yeah I so believe this is reputable  Add that to the telephone spam, all from my phone company..  I informed them how overjoyed I was to work all night and then get woken up early to answer their phone call. Hmm maybe I can teach the dogs to make the coffee...

my cars bumber hitted the ground and kinda "broke" yesterday just because i didn't want to listen to myself since i knew you can't use that road since you can't get to the road i was going from that road.. confusing enough? good i do that alot lately even to myself..

Life sucks and basically it's so boring and meaningless so does drunken depression qualify? i'm not drunk atm, but i'm depressed tho all the time and grumpy while at work and drunk on weekends..
