It's fine anyway, without importing overpowered characters.
Yes, the English are tough. But not impossible; not at all. You just need to be a bit sneaky. Get close enough for ONE soldier to see you, then back off, drawing him to follow you. When you have him alone, nicely away from his mates, lay into him and finish him off. Repeat as necessary. Sometimes you may have to take on more than one, but you can deal with as many as 3 at a time if have to. More, even. AND you don't have to be a tank to do it, either.
I have to say one thing, though: this is not a game to just run through hacking and slashing. You will fail if you try to play it that way unless you ARE a tank - and even then it may not be all that easy!
You need careful planning in ADVANCE of any fight.
Which means (a) being very sure of what Stats you give your char.
Which means (b) being careful about the Perks you choose.
Which means (c) stockpiling healing/mana potions. It is better to WAIT and let health/mana replenish on their own whenever possible.
Which means (d) buying and stockpiling those fire kegs Ravager mentioned, for use in emergencies.
Which means (e) using the very best weapons and armour you can obtain! ALWAYS replace current armour/weapons with better stuff as you find it - even if you have to buy it. But it's a LOT cheaper to FIND stuff!
