Karembeu; Some people actually do find Jaheira a bit annoying, myself included. However, I think it's great that you two get along so well. Just stop talking to her when you turn off your computer, OK? Image

So how do you use Jaheira, anyway? As for fighters there certainly are much better ones (especially when you also have to consider her weapon restrictions). As for priests, Viconia and (should you prefer a druid) Cernd both have more spells.

You people are too quick to dismiss Anomen, I suppose it could be possible that the developers made him annoying to increase the rewards given when he is knighted.

Sir Anomen is a top NPC, a great cleric and a fine fighter, after his knighthood he hasn't muttered a single word about his great deeds etc. etc.

So bottom line, be patient with Anomen, keep him on the straight and narrow and you'll have a valuable member of the team.

Use her??? Now that's a nice thought....Actually when I played through the game using only my character and Jaheira she had the role as "fighter, spellcaster, romance interest, lover, sex-godess...etc)...I though it worked out pretty good.....

I'd forgotten you played a game with Jaheira as only NPC. Has to be romantic, the two of you sitting alone by the firelight every night... But it kind of figures - Jaheira is useful because you have no other NPC. If you put her together with a good fighter like Korgan or Mazzy, you'll notice that Jaheira becomes superfluos. The same will happen if you put another, better, priest in your party. But ss for the other tasks you've given her, I certainly would say that (at least) Korgan is no good replacement. He simply doesn't look as good as Jaheira. And of course, he's a male dwarf, too. Image Mazzy is kind of cute, though...

I think Jaheira is a great fighter, I have her running around with Belm in one hand and some +2 scimitar in the other and she rips apart the fiends, and her armour class is great without having to wear anything too special.

OH YEAH and my vote for most hated NPC would have to be that bloody annoying guy who hangs around the trademeet fountain who stops you everytime you're near to tell you stupid useless remarks, what's his name again? he was in the first BG (do you get exp points for putting u with him like in the first game?).

OH and for some reason that bard who was hanging outside the Radiant Heart romancing the guard, he kept stopping me to tell me about his love for the guard woman, i think it was a bug in the game though. I remember him from BG 1, lol i got him killed, he's back to haunt me.

I just love to pick that line when I first meet Anomen:

"Where did you get that idiotic accent from? Reading too many romance novels?" Image

Actually, I kind of thought that I had been patient with Anomen. He passed his test and became a Knight and all, which I thought would make him a very fine addition to the party. But ... minor spoilers coming:

.
.
.

But then he took off after Saerk, and at the showdown, I refused to profess my undying love for him because I had been strictly neutral with him until that time and simply wanted to see him survive. Guess maybe if I had just pretended to love him things would have worked out better, but in the end, I killed Saerk for him as he was completely unable to do the job himself, he decided he couldn't live with his wickedness, dropped all his equipment in a pile on the floor and disappeared never to be seen again. Ugh. I had really hoped that I would run into him meditating in the temple ruins or at his father's house or even in the CC, so that I could give him a stiff beating, but even that satisfaction was denied.

They really should have planned an alternate male romantic interest. Anomen was just the worst.

I wouldn't say that Anomen is the worst.....would you rather prefer a romance with Minsc or maybe Jan Jansen????

Yes you get some EXP. points for "putting up" with him...and you also get a few "stones" that people have thrown at his sorry A$$.....

Jan, on the other hand... no.

Why not a romance with Jan (if you play a female gnome, dwarf or maybe hafling)? At least he's very sympatic; take for example his personal quest (cares deeply for Lissa even though she stood him up for that idiot).

Also, I've said it before, he IS the coolest of them all.

yeah, that is true about jan, and to tell you the truth it is why i simply don't understand his CN alignment, but he's just not my type. he's more of a brother than a potential lover. and i am not sure i would want to hear what he has to say on the mornings after

I hate Nalia because she talks garbage!

I hate Crend more because he is useless.

I hate Keldorn most because I have to play a paladin if I don't want him in my party.

I hate that drow chick outside Phaere's House, where she needs my help, but was so ungrateful because I am a guy!

I'm noticing a pattern here from the males

She whinged and then to top it all didn't sleep with me!!! So I pick her

"*ONE THING* the fact that no romances work all out except for the Jaheira one is very frustrating.... If it wasnt ment to be, why did they include them in the first place *END OF THING*"

Well firstly, the expansion is going to carry them on. Secondly, it works with Jaheira (provided the script doesn't die on you, which it probably will), it works with Aerie

SPOILER

(sleep with her and she says she'll go her own way after you win though, but hey, if you're after sex you picked the wrong
one Image).

END SPOILER

And Viconia is an evil drow, who comes from a society where sex is merely another tool of power. What's the problem here?

So many annoying NPCs, so little time.

Anomen is the most annoying male, boast boast boast, can't fight worth s***. Jan Jansen is bloody annoying too Image Cernd is boring, not annoying.

Most annoying female? Nalia hands down. Ye Gods, I feared clicking on her portrait, she was that annoying. I tell you, include Nalia in your party, it acts as a real kick start reason for heading off after Immy (so ou can replace Nalia ASAP!)

My vote would have to go to Anomen. Never liked the snobby people in high school either.

I have nothing against Anomen, since he's good after he gains knighthood. I just LOVE Jaheira, just haven't got my romance with her working yet Image Actually, I don't know if it works yet.

But for the most annoying NPC, that goes to that damn Nalia's Aunt. A nagging bitch. For the ones who can join, I had a tough time choosing from Haer'Dalis and Nalia...but after a while of thinking the prize goes for Nalia. "For the needy!" "RRRAAAARGGHH!!! Minsc kills all!" 8)
