Onderon wierdness (spoilers)
Onderon wierdness (spoilers)
This must be my 3rd time playing through the game, and this time I'm doing it as a full dark side character, trying to kill off all the Masters. So, I've done Nar Shadaa, and now I'm on the second half of Onderon...but I can't kill Kavar. I don't understand why, even checking the walkthrough tells me that a DS character should side with Vaklu seemingly be default, but I'm DS (I've got the dark side mastery bonus too, so I'm pretty damned evil) and I seem to be siding with Talia, though I don't know why.
I don't recall ever choosing to help Talia, so why am I helping her? Is there something I have to do to side with Vaklu?
I realise it's probably too late to change anything, and I'd have to go back a significant way to realign myself with Vaklu, I'm just curious as to what I've done.
Thanks

You can side with either one whether you are DS or LS, it doesn't depend on your alignment. To side with Vaklu you have to contribute the right responses during all the little conversations on Onderon, such as tell the two arguing about the politics that Vaklu is right, side with Vaklu's supporters in the riot and so on. Once you get Vaklu's attention by doing this you can then side with him.
Hey tTz, you don't have to kill Master Kavar just yet, you can kill him when get to the
Jedi Enclave.
I know that, I've played the game twice already.
I was just interested to find out what happened at the rebuilt Jedi Enclave when all the Masters were dead. Looks like it'll have to wait until my next playthrough though.

I must have missed one or two conversations then, since I thought I had sided with him in all of the ones I'd found. Thanks for that though, I'll bear that in mind next time I play through the game.

So after you've done the conversations favourable to General Vaklu, will you still be attacked by the rioters when it is time to leave Onderon? Just asking because I've been attacked by the rioters when I chose conversation options favourable to Queen Talia.
Did you talk to the woman behind the riot area? She refuses to talk to you at first but once you show that you prefer Vaklu's ideas/methods etc. she will talk to you and she is the one that triggers the Vaklu side rather than the Queen side.
That'll be the one I missed then. One to watch for next time, methinks.

Last time I played, I killed all of them apart from Kavar (hence why I was so eager to get rid of him this time round), and when I got to the rebuilt Enclave, he said something about 'having to answer for killing the other Jedis' and fought me. It was an incredibly easy duel, actually. Unlike the one I'm stuck on just now, with Master Vrook. I wish he'd just die.
Are you playing as LS or DS? (Spoilers, please highlight)Kaevar wrote:Ok, so i cant seem to not kill Kavar, i need to find a way to not kill the masters and make Kreia do it because I'm a nice guy. So if someone could tell me the steps to take for not killing Kavar or any of the other masters that would be cool.
Spoiler
Because if you play as DS, you will most certainly end up killing them before reaching the Rebuilt Jedi Enclave in Dantooine during the Loose Ends sequence. Even if you are merciful to them, they will still attack you when you are in the Rebuilt Jedi Enclave. On the other hand, if you play as LS, you will end up not fighting them when you reach the Rebuilt Jedi Enclave.
Since I play as LS, the best option is to choose the right conversation options, let them teach you their Force Stances and that's practically it (provided that you are fully LS). I'm not sure how to pull it off if you're DS.

You need to be careful the first time you arrive on Onderon, basically. Here's a list of what you do to side with Vaklu; (spoilers)The first time you enter the Merchant Quarter, you trigger a scene where a guy called Ponlar is making a political speech. You need to choose a pro-Vaklu response. Then walk on towards the archway and you'll see a devaronian arguing politics with a twilek. Ask them their opinions, then they'll ask what you think. Day the queen should listen to the will of her people. Then approach a woman called Anda, who's standing not far from those two, near a wall. You'll notice her because she's standing still and all the other citizens are wandering about. She'll say she heard you supported Vaklu. Agree with this, and she'll give you some (DS only) sidequests. Finally, when you enter the area where Ponlar is speaking for the second time (after having visited another area), he'll try to provoke a riot and a soldier will try to arrest him. Encourage the riot.. If you do all 4 of these things, you'll have sided with Vaklu, and you'll get to fight the Jedi automatically. Avoid these responses, and you should side with the Queen automatically. However, if you DO find that the game thinks you're pro-Vaklu, there is a final chance to side with the Queen. (spoilers) When your meeting with the Jedi in the cantina is interrupted, there is a dialogue option where you can refuse the offer to work with Vaklu Choose it, and you should side with the Queen. I'm not sure it's always available though; maybe only if you've sometimes sided with one, sometimes with the other.Kaevar wrote:I'm trying to go through light side, but i always end of siding with Vaklu...
The other 2 Jedi masters on the planets are really easy to get to fight. Just tell them 'I've heard enough, prepare to die'. Fighting Atris is compulsory for everyone, but once you've knocked off all her hit points you get dialogue with her, where you can either kill her or show her mercy.
