I vote for :

Anomen - the most annoying character in BG2. I usually kick him out when i meet Keldorn.

Viconia - that is simply - she is a bitch.

I hate Yoshimo. Treacherous, backstabbing, shadow-crawling, sewer-smelling, pusilanimous piece of rat-filth that he is.

He should die of Gonorrhoea and rot in hades. Personally, I don't need the XP for un-geasing his heart and leave him to eternal damnation in the seven flaming pits of hell. Image

oh nalia easily the worst thief in the game and a subpar mage not worth the trouble though she let me have that wonderful keep. But i hate that goody-goody stuff. Shes just try to sound like a modest person supposedly helping the poor, she has the value of that whore upstairs in the CC.

My vote is for Haerdalis, stupid, lame fighter, mediocre mage and tried to romance Aerie. As I am currently playing a threesome party (me-kensai mage, Jaheira and Jan), I plan to take him with me to spellhold and the dump him in the maze or in the Underdark (muahahahahaha!!!!)

anomen!! There are better fighters (Minsc, Mazzy). There are better clerics (Vic). So besides being irritating, he's also redundant. And Aerie, she whines soooo much.

From a female point of view, bioware should really have included other options for male romances, because anomen is just unbearable. valygar (or yoshimo) would have been nice.

NPC

I hate the portrait and voice for Ellesime! It stand in the manual that she would be such a beauty that mortals that see her would die/faint in awe (or something like it), but both the portrait and voice (that dialect!) SUCK!

PNPCs
Anomen
Haer'Dalis
Nalia
Aerie (extreme chalkboard voice!)

That seems to point up a significant difference between Europeans and Americans. A European says: "I can't understand this, what's wrong with me?" An American says: "I can't understand this, what's wrong with him?"

I reckon that Stonehege was build by the contemporary equivalent of Microsoft, whereas Avebury was definitely an Apple circle.

@Ro´Jadre: I really agree about Ellesime, it's so disappointing to find out she looks like an overworked carrot.

But I vote for Tolgerias as the NPC I disliked the most. His "I am one of the few who are chosen" makes me think of the elite class of Roman Catholic priests during Europe's Middle Ages. Ugh.

Cernd: You can't level him past lvl 14, so he's stuck with a THACO that won't let him hit the broadside of a barn, and his werewolf forms were underwhelming. So what if he can cast lvl 7 spells? He only gets one, and they all have long casting times. Besides, the cleric can cast one of the more useful ones too: Earthquake. Cast it close to Illithids and Drow and run away! Resist this, scum!!!
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

I have my own way of dealing with annoying NPCs. *Drumroll* I give to you the patented "Dúnadan Arse-Whomping System!"

Step 1: Beat the NPC unconsious
Step 2: Blind
Step 3: Deafen
Step 4: Slow
Step 5: Enfeeble
Step 6: Feeblemind
Step 7: Polymorph into a squirrel
Step 8: Pertrify
Step 9: Imprison

Lather, Rinse, Repeat. Always repeat. Image

Er, how do you get someone unconscious in BG2?

To get someone unconsious you just pummel them to death with a character's fists. It's funny when Anomen gets beaten to unconsiousness by a weak little girl with 7 strength. Image

Top three of my most hated party members Image
1. ANOMEN!!! he was wayyyyyyyy too whiny! (the reason why i don't like playing a female pc- couldn't i romance someone else?)i couldn't wait til he got his knighthood, so i walked him into the mindflayer lair in the sewers all alone... Image
2. Cernd! Extremely useless and horrible portrait
3. Valygar- the same as minsc except no dialogue and a horrible portrait...
i might've said Aerie for picking on Jaheira but she is rather cute and not annoying if you dump her in a nice way... besides, she's got Haer Dalis' to listen to her occasional ranting! Image
Haer Dalis- Ah, my raven, this be the grand city of commerce. Mayhap we can sell Jaheira?

Ribald is by far the most annoying jerk in the game. Won't sell me his "good" stuff until it doens't matter, and doesn't give me good prices on the stuff I bring back and sell....

I really hated Jaheira (I have the right to do it, correct?) Could not stand her voice and manners. If I did not play a good character, I would have killed her right away. And I do not care if she is a good fighter/whatever - I hate her.

To be honest, all the Keldorn debunkers in this post must have NEVER clicked on his special abilities: True seeing kills ALL illusions, dispel magic simply KICK A**!!! Examples:

Twisted rune - this was just hilarious. I must admit that I didn't understand the awesome value of these abilities at one pt., so after 17 (!!!) tries, all my characters dying, I did it by complete accident. Here's how:

all my characters except for Keldorn, PC and Minsk - dead. Mages still have all protection spells, keep beating down on my ass like I was some five-ear old kid. My PC (Priest of Thalos lvl 18) is hiding in the back with sanctuary, ost spells depleted. Then...
Kjeldorn: True seeing
All illusion lost
Kjeldorn: dispel magic
All protections lost
Kjeldorn: proceeds to beat the sh*t out of the remaining enemies (alkl the mages, I think), and Minsk comes under control @ same time.

Besides Twisted rune, I have used Kjeldorn to kill
Elemental lich
Shade lich
other lich (city gates)
Kangaxx the lich
most of the BIG splellcasters in the game (even with a quasi-godlike party, lvl 16's for all the single class, lvl21 for my main, there was this stupid mage in the north forest I had to battle three times. After second time, I just lured his tank protection, whooped 'em, and then came by with Kjeldorn and killed him easily).

In Suldanessar, furthermore, I had Kjeldorn and Minsk dualling all the golems except the adamantine (have to summon some creatures to distract him), the demon in the temple, the rakhashas - EVERYONE!!!! (But I needed spells too)

NOW, for the second pt (sorry for long post): IMHO, your partiality to an NPC depends on how he/she has progressed in the game. I found lots of ppl saying Nalia is horrible as a mage, and I got nothing against that - there are better mages in the game. But now, when she is a lvl 16, casts 8th level spells, I LOVE her!!! On the other hand, I lost Jaheira for a while, and now she is HORRIBLE!!! I only use her for summon FIre elemental and a couple of othr spells.
