What do you do for reputation loss?
What do you do for reputation loss?
Are there other ways to lose reputation instead stealing or killing? What do you do for a bit of reputation loss? (seems all quest do is up reputation.. yet to do one that lowers it)

Changing into the Slayer costs 2 Reputation, as does taking Viconia in your party (you get them back if you kick her out).

Spoiler
happens in the Asylum
Slayer change, Viconia, killing, stealing... plus the trials in Hell. If you have the standard version, choosing an Evil path costs you 1 reputation. This is gone when using the Revised Hell Trials.
NPCs stay hostile forever.

the most irritating way to lose rep is to accidentally kill bystanders - I have actually gone down to zero when I unleashed a creature and it fireballed a few civilians.
being caught stealing
having viconia in the party
killing non-combatants
I don't think that there are many dialogue options.
you could always take off the ring of human influence and let your CHA3 shime through...

I have a rep of 19 anf Jaheira is always moaning - "we must strive to achieve balance" - some quests which should lower rep - such as ambushing Quilque with no warning don't. there are no penalties for cowardice or greed or killing non-good NPCs it seems, yet often a course of action is dishonourable.

About standard for good/evil implementation in a computerized RPG, wouldn't you agree?Celacena wrote:I have a rep of 19 anf Jaheira is always moaning - "we must strive to achieve balance" - some quests which should lower rep - such as ambushing Quilque with no warning don't. there are no penalties for cowardice or greed or killing non-good NPCs it seems, yet often a course of action is dishonourable.
As for Jaheira, I'm afraid the neutrals in the game will always moan about the necessity for balance when you go around being nice by solving quests, or being bad by killing non-bad people.
But I think we're coming to the end of this thread. We've explained seemingly all instances that can cause reputation drop, and that was Probe53's goal.
