Hehe...in english, the DCs I listed there are the checks you need to make in order to don an item for which you have a disparate class/alignment.

So, say your character has a Charisma score of 20, modifier of 5. That means in order to emulate a class specific item, you'd need a rank of 15, ie be a level 12 rogue/bard and max out your UMD skill.

Translate that example according to your charisma, level and the requirements of the item you want to use.

That is amazing. So, theoretically I could have a level 30 sneak attacking rouge able to use any equipment and cast level 9 cleric, druid and wizard cleric from scrolls. Could be costly to equip fully but getting the money should not be too much of a problem.

Yeah, I found that out last night too :( Too bad, I was really looking forward to using Light of Cera Sumat and an evil weapon together.

Oh well, not to worry I'm sure there are plenty of other good options! I think UMD skill in Neverwinter Nights lets you equip class specific items though.

Ah well...

it's probably not a coding issue, since in ToB thieves and bards got UMD as a feat rather than a skill, and it applied to every single item (e.g. you could dual class Sarevok to a thief and give him the Holy Avenger by the end of the game). I'm guessing it was done for balance, because otherwise the rogues and bard get too many bonuses...that's not strictly true, since the traps simply aren't harsh enough to justify that, and invisibility spells cover scouting. Nothing like the BG series or IWD 1 where you had to watch for those Finger of Death and Cloudkill traps.
