Unofficial Patch 8.0 is out!
Unofficial Patch 8.0 is out!
Download: Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines : Patches, Updates, Addons, Downloads (The Patches Scrolls)
This is a milestone for the Unofficial Patch! Not only has the Basic Patch gotten much more basic with most even just scenic restorations removed, the Plus Patch has gotten improved a lot as well! Check out the changelog below and acknowledge all the great people of the community mentioned there, who helped me with the patch!
The new library level is not yet included in this patch, because while burgermeister is busy constructing it, he noticed that we need more textures than those found already in the game files. So this is an appeal to all texture artists out there to help us and contact him!

Well, I guess that answers my question from the 7.9 patch thread. Any estimation on when you'll be ready to release the new level?
I think it rather ruins the challenge...
Anyway, good job. I think I'm going to check it out today.
Why did you change that? Does that mean you can just kill the werewolf now?Wesp5 wrote: +Made werewolf damageable, thanks to Lenuska and also andagangrel89.

Is this new? Or are you just talking about the head in Nine's room?Wesp5 wrote:+Added note to Luckee Star to give some hint on werewolf easter eggs.

I changed it because I found it illogical from the time on I first played the game that you can't even try. And I don't think it will ruin the challenge at all, just go ahead and try to kill himOctarine wrote: Why did you change that? Does that mean you can just kill the werewolf now?

That head is no easter egg. What I am referring to are two easter eggs connected to werewolfes which I fixed and restored but they are so hard to stumble upon that I thought I give a hint so people can find them.Is this new? Or are you just talking about the head in Nine's room?
Played through Santa Monica yesterday, I didn't really noticed a lot of new objects from the last patch I played, which was around 7.0 IIRC (except the weights in the beach house...?). But that's probably just my bad memory
.
I liked the guard you added in the tutorial, but maybe you should consider re-recording the lines or doing some sound editing because the quality is noticeably worse than the rest of the dialog in the game.
Also, are the lines NPCs in the street say when you bump into them new? Or did I just not notice it before?
And two minor bugs - first is with the the first Sabbat thug in the tutorial (the one you have to sneak past then kill). He didn't attack even when he saw me. I didn't try to reproduce it, so maybe it was a one time thing.
The second is related to what I'm guessing are the idle animations. The male Malkavian's animation where he sorta looks around, will sometime start when you're trying to feed, and then he just stands there without feeding. This happened to me a few times, but it's fixable if you move away and feed from a different direction.
[edit]
Two more bugs in Downtown LA:
1. In Malk dialog with Damsel, when asking about the anarchs she gives the Camarilla reply and vise versa. That's in lines 318-319 and 336-337 in damsel.dlg.
2. Fat Larry is missing...? He not in the old location and not in the alley near Confession. Couldn't find him anywhere else on map. Does he only show up after a certain quest now or is that a bug?

Do you mean the audio quality or the voice-over quality? Because it was done by a non-professional fanOctarine wrote: I liked the guard you added in the tutorial, but maybe you should consider re-recording the lines or doing some sound editing because the quality is noticeably worse than the rest of the dialog in the game.
No.Also, are the lines NPCs in the street say when you bump into them new?
I can't reproduce this. He always attacks me and the fail window pops up!And two minor bugs - first is with the the first Sabbat thug in the tutorial (the one you have to sneak past then kill). He didn't attack even when he saw me. I didn't try to reproduce it, so maybe it was a one time thing.
This is known bug and has already be fixed. There are some more related to the idle animations so maybe I will release a hotfix. The second is related to what I'm guessing are the idle animations.
That is okay. For Malks the children of the Camarilla ARE the anarchs and the parents of the anarchs ARE the Camarilla.1. In Malk dialog with Damsel, when asking about the anarchs she gives the Camarilla reply and vise versa.
Oops, that is indeed the result of switching between basic and plus. Already fixed, it will be in any released hotfix too...2. Fat Larry is missing...? I'm talking about audio quality. It's a bit noisy. I'm guessing he didn't use a professional microphone.Wesp5 wrote:Do you mean the audio quality or the voice-over quality? Because it was done by a non-professional fan.
It happened to me after you talk to Jack and he sends you to fight him.Wesp5 wrote:I can't reproduce this. He always attacks me and the fail window pops up!
Oh, right... I wasn't paying attention...Wesp5 wrote:That is okay. For Malks the children of the Camarilla ARE the anarchs and the parents of the anarchs ARE the Camarilla.
I just encounter another problem, Jack suddenly disappeared from the Last Round. Not sure what triggered it, I was doing Downtown's side quests before going to the Elizabeth Dane.
Hm, can't do much about that except asking him to do it over againOctarine wrote:I'm talking about audio quality. It's a bit noisy. I'm guessing he didn't use a professional microphone.
I was talking about another thug, I didn't change anything about yours. It happened to me after you talk to Jack and he sends you to fight him.
That is caused by the same script as Fat Larry disappearing. I already fixed it...I just encounter another problem, Jack suddenly disappeared from the Last Round.
Good idea...
...about wolfie. It was always an annoyance that the only two clans that had any useful discipline there were Brujah and Toreador. None of the others had any way around the problem other than "hope we don't run out of bloodpacks!" Obfuscate didn't work, forget thaumaturgy, nor dominate...just run away, and with zero celerity, you were boned.

Installing the hotfix during a running game is not recommended. Please try this console command in the Last Round: __main__.Find("Jack_basic").ScriptUnhide() and this on the LA hub: __main__.Find("Larry_basic").ScriptUnhide()Octarine wrote:I'm already in Hollywood I don't want to go back. So I guess I'll wait for the hotfix.
Yeah, I noticed the typo. It didn't matter, still doesn't work.
I finished the game today, I only found one more thing but I'm not even sure if you'd want to fix it.
If you kill the Hengeyokai at the Red Dragon after setting the meeting, when you go talk to Yuki you can still tell her he's at the fish market and go fight him again. I guess the check that he's dead is missing, but I didn't look at the file.
Other than that, nothing else I could find. Great job as usual. I really liked the new/restored music (I know it's from an earlier patch).
And can you give another hint about the werewolf easter egg? Beside the note in the Luckee Star, that didn't help much...

Indeed, I didn't think someone would do it in that order. I'll fix that!Octarine wrote: If you kill the Hengeyokai at the Red Dragon after setting the meeting, when you go talk to Yuki you can still tell her he's at the fish market and go fight him again.
Just open a door there about ten times and then look behind the hotel...And can you give another hint about the werewolf easter egg? Beside the note in the Luckee Star, that didn't help much...
