Character level disallowed ?

Hey and please help explain this to me:

I get upon leveling up this Message: (Server) Character level disallowed by server restriction.

I have a Wizard level 5, then i took 1 level as Eldrith Knight, preparing him for Arkane Scholar ( free feats upon lvl 1 EK) I am in all ways set up to become Arkane scholar at lvl 7 but it is denied me.

Can any say why this is so ? I understood that each Character could hold a total of 4 classes.

First, do you meet all the requirements for Arcane Scholar. (From the GB subsite) They are:

� Skills: Spellcraft 8 ranks
� Feats: Empower Spell, Skill Focus (Concentration), and Skill Focus (Spellcraft).
� Spellcasting: Able to cast 3rd-level arcane spells.

Also, might you be restricted from Arcane Scholar based on your race? I haven't played NWN2 in years, so I cannot recall if it does that.

If you meet the requirements, are you running any mods for the game, are you playing Multi-Player or on another server, or have you done any file editing? Any of these could impose special rules or change requirements. For example, a balance mod might restrict or limit over-powered combinations.

I think i have found my Problem.

My game is horribly bugged. i have version 1.020 (1541) which came auto updated upon installing. Tha Auto patcher claimed this was final Act and i cant find newer patches as the original sites are down. I have found some newer on NWN Vault, and will try to patch my game to ver 1.23

among others, my Wizard 5 EK 1 has All the things needed in order. I can start the lvl up sequesnce and Choose ARC Scolar...but upon the final "Done" button my character returns to lvl 5/1, not 5/1/1

My cleric can get no Access to the divine feat Sacred Purificateion Although all requirements are in order

My lvl 1 Chaotic Evil Spirit Shaman cannnot lvl up in SS at all....period. It seems the lvl 2 ability chastice Spirits cannot co-exist with Chaotic evil Alignment but there is no mention of alignment restriction to SS class anywhere

In OC my game crashes again and again after i exit the Sunken Flagon after visiting it for the first time.

Strangely none of this happened last time i played OC & SoZ, but back then Bioware site / Atari Site actually supported the game

If your game is that buggy, you may be interested to know that GOG recently acquired NWN2. The price tag is $20, but it does include all three expansions, and should be up to date. GOG whole mandate is to make older games run on newer systems, so this is likely to be the best copy you'll find.

If the price is an issue for you, I'd recommend signing up for a free account on the site, and watching your email every Friday. GOG runs sales every weekend with various games up to 80% off, but more commonly 40-50%. Since it is a new release, you may have to wait until Christmas, but you shouldn't have too much trouble getting the game for around $10 at some point.

If you want to try and fix the install you have, there are a couple of forum messages at GOG talking about current NWN resources. Not sure if any of them will help you, but they'd likely be your best shot. The two big ones are:

It happened again.

Neither my Druid or my cleric with Animal Domain was able to get the Dino companion !

Later My Cleric, with all prereq's in order, was not able to advance as Stormlord !

I have now spent too much time on making new parties. I get bored. I seriously consider unistalling.

Aaargh ! Too many Bugs

Last post in this thread, as i got to update my game manually. I fould all the patches and shut down my networking.
All is now working perfectly. No more Bugs.
