Romance questions (SPOILERS)

Post by Aremah »

When I first played a Light Side male character, I had a romance with Bastilla, and consumed it, so to say. Then I played a Dark Side female, and there was something going on with Carth, but my alignment thwarted hope of anything more. My questions are:

1) Is there romance other that with Bastila/Carth? If so, are there any "triggers", such as having a character in your party for a set time?

2) What's up with the Dark Side not being able to romance? Or was it just me?

I'm now playing a Light Side female and Dark Side male, appropriately, to get the most out of the game, so I'd appreciate some answers :)

I was hoping to romance Bastilla as a female dark on my second playthough, but I never got off Taris.

So hot :o

edit to make post slightly useful: carth/bastilla are the only romances. I think the dark side's romancable as a male, because of certain things which are huge spoilers

The only romances are with Bastila or Carth: that's it.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

I beleive light siders only get romances because well... dark side is... evil? i mean, i doubt your gonna get to have a romance with dark side bastila considering that some day shes gonna try putting her lightsaber through your innards as all sith apprentices do.. kinda takes the romance outta the situation when you gotta be worried wither or not your lovers gonna try and remove various vital body parts with a light saber half way through making out.

and having someone you love would bee seen as a weakness others might try to exploit in a gain for power, or could even be used against you by the person you love. when your in that kinda situation love isnt exactly a good thing.

We'll see soon enough. Remember that Jedi weren't allowed to love because of all the emotions that came with it, including anger, which all lead to the Dark Side. If you're Dark Side, then, perhaps loving wouldn't be such a bad thing. And if you think about it, when the day would finally come that the apprentice would try to take the mantle of the Sith Lord, perhaps he (or she) wouldn't be able to strike, because of what they both shared.

I though it would be possible to romance with Juhani? At least she´s asking quite personal questions at one point. Need to check it out if I have save near that point. Dark Siders aren´t into love any more than Light. True, love leads to anger etc. but it also leads to mercy. Ask Sith Mast Ultharr (or whatshisname) in Korriban. ;)

if your dark side your generally prone to acts of violence, betrayal, murder, sadism, and lacking in compassion, empathy, caring, or anything else that would be needed to feel love.

Jedi are discouraged from love because of the emotions, but your not gonna get kicked outta the jedi for feeling it. sides, as Jolee says, its not like the Jedi are omnipotent and all knowing. problem is its a shade of gray so to speak, it can lead you either way, but star wars isnt much for the shades of gray angle.

I have completed the game light and darkside (darkside 4 times) ;) but to answer your question - the romance options are basically Bastilla and Carth.

The last time I played I took the "slow slide to the darkside" route. Start of in the grey area then slide down towards the end post Leviathan incident....
If you decide to be are darkside you can amass a horde of darkside points by taking "hard" rationale choices while still being relatively "nice" to members of your own party...

Romancing Carth as a darkside female is well worth the special extended ending to the game.... ;)

*Spoiler Fest*

If you;ve been nice to Carth all the way and got him to declare his love etc etc... If you turn to the Darkside -after the final battle with Malak.... Carth turns up one last time in an extra scene to try and Talk you out of the Darkside.

By this time of course its too late. But the conversatio between him and your new apprentice his quite funny.
You can
1) cut him down yourself
2) let your apprentice cut him down
Either way the termination of Carth's consistent drivel is damn fine.

Hmm, I'm playing a light side female this time and flirted with Carth on Taris(as he always initiated the flirting, it didn't seem like any sort of DS action)
Heh, I was disappointed, I was hoping for some girl on girl romance with bastilla.

Anyway, now that the game has progressed, whenever I talk to Carth it gets all serious, talking about Saul etc.
Will I get more flirting options?

Hey, it'd be nice to have a few more romance options(although it might be going a bit overboard. too much stuff like that and you'd need to play the game through dozens of times to see everything)
I want to seduce Zaalbar.....mmmmm....big hairy guys turn me on ;)

Well, sometimes the other characters talk to each other(and not you) so it'd be nice to have a few of them have romances. Perhaps the robot from Taris and the robot from Tatooine could get it together?

You can actually get Bastila to be your lover & apprentice should you choose to be on the dark side. All you need to make sure is that you do not prompt her into a conversation which is related to the romance subplot after you kissed her on the ship. To be exact, do not say "I wish to talk to you about what happened between us". If you do not say this phrase, you'll see the difference in the dialogue when you meet her again at the Temple. You'll also have the chance to have her as both your lover & apprentice :)

Damnit, I kissed her on the ship and did all that, agh, she was my deadly apprentice but not my lover, but I had a previous lightsider who I seduced her with, and now I'm seducing Carth... and Star Wars Geek.... MISSION IS 14!!!!! (And yes, it does say it explicitly in the game)

Well, she's a Twi'Lek after all. Maybe there's a age difference between Twi'lek and human.

Doh! I wish I'd known that yesterday. I just completed my Dark Side game, and I did use that line of conversation "I wish to talk to you about what happened between us." I was wondering why she never brought it up again when I found her at the temple. Hmmm.... I don't have a game saved back far enough to correct this anymore. I guess I'll just have to play through again to see this for myself. :)

I am to assume there is no age difference between twi'lek and human, due to the many many references to Mission as "A kid". The hidden bek body guard "But she's only a kid!", Carth calling her a kid. Your ability if you are mean to call her a spoiled brat, I heard her say she is 14 and I'm assuming that's correct.
