Do you ppl know what could be useful or good party for normal IWD 2 gaming.
I have thought this very long and finally have gathered enough courage to come and ask from you (im a bit noob in RPG games but i still gotta love PnP )
I have got many good hints and tips from these forums, but i still don't know how many and what kind of chars could be good?
If it helps, I'm currently going through a new game with the current group:
Elven Sorceress, with good CHA, INT and DEX. She's the identifier and speaker of the group. Also the one adding the damage from all those magical arrows that the Rogue cannot finish.
Human Rogue/Fighter/Wizard, with good DEX. The multiclassing is rogue->fighter->rogue->wizard... repeat. Two-small blades fighter and scout with spells for Shield and Blur when the battle gets tough.
Human Cleric of Talos, focusing on both spellcasting and melee, with leveling bias to spellcasting, ie. when picking feats, assigning attribute scores etc. The human skill is used to raise Wilderness.
Dwarven Cleric of Tempus, as with the other Cleric, but biased to melee when levelling.
So far, I can often get the extra CHA based dialog options and can wade through chapters 1-3 with almost no resting.. typically finishing a chapter in 2-3 game days.
The rest is a spoiler rant:

Requested a Beetle Platemail upon starting Ch2, and another immidiately after getting the first. I wonder if I can get that Beetle Platemail I requested a few game-hours before finishing the chapter....
Mine looks like this so far (in 1st level of Dragon's Eye in normal Mode).
1) Human Barbarian xx/ Fighter 4 (basic unstoppable tank using Great Sword)
2) Shield Dwarf Fighter 10/ Cleric of Bane xx (intended to be a 2nd tank but I found I didn't need it. So I multiclassed him to cleric. I would've built him w/ more spellcasting levels or something if I had to start over)
3) Shield Dwarf of Temps xx (main healer, extra tank when needed, summoner)
4) Human Rogue 3/ Cleric of Mask xx (extra healer, main scout and archer. He's been fun but hasn't excelled in scout role. The problem has been that once he gets behind enemy lines he doesn't have the mage-killer or area damage skills to do much).
So far I haven't had any real trouble with any of the fights. Looks like they're getting bigger though. I've been thinking of trying a 4-person party something like what was in the previous post.
@Damned,
Since you state that you are new to this genere of pc games, I would advised taking 6 characters at least through the prologue and chapters 1 & 2. That will give you a good feel for what characters you'll use most. Here is one choice:
1) Paladin (main tank)
2) Fighter 4/Barbarian X (2nd tank)
3) Bard or Druid or Monk (completely up to you.)
4) Cleric (domain of your choosing) (healer)
5) Sorceror (main spellcaster)
6) Male Drow Rogue 1/Wizard X (high dex & int) (Theif, 2nd spellcaster)
If you are planning on playing in Normal mode then HOF, you'll need to better plan your party's progression as you will probably need something more than this to beat HOF mode.
