Buy a new comp. Only make sure it is well overpowered; that way it will be fit for upcoming games as well as Oblivion. :)

And despite a lot of criticisms by a lot of people (mostly valid!), it's a fun game to play. I'm enjoying it hugely.

Well if you have that much to spend I would upgrade the computer you already have. I have a policy if you wish to call it that, that when I do buy a completely new computer I go overboard as much as possible. The industry moves fast, so a real beast of a machine gets old quickly therefore I think that it's a smart move, you can use it longer. Anyway, if the money is tight, I say upgrade because honestly, it won't be a waste, in general you will be able to use your computer more easily. But choose carefully.
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.

Yes it's worth it. i had to upgrade. I however am screwed because my comp only has pci slots (no agp or pci express). that means that the best pci card out there only runs oblivion on the lowest graphics. so I will soon have to buy a new comp for the next generation of games.
