The granddaddy of all pen & paper RPGs, the game was first launched by TSR way back in 1974. Since then the game has had numerous expansions and revisions. PC gamers have had quite a few D&D based titles over the years including some of the best PC RPGs ever created (Pool of Radience, Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Planescape Torment). And then something a little more obscure (Deadlands):
MMO gamers can currently enjoy Turbine's Dungeons and Dragons Online and Atari has plans to continue releasing D&D themed RPGs including a possible new Baldur's Gate title.
This "weird Western" RPG features six-shooters, zombies, monsters and other things that are not a normal part of Wild West history. First published in 1996 it has become a cult hit among pen-and-paper gamers.
Headfirst had plans to make a Deadlands PC game but those plans were shut down with the close of the developer. Since then there's been no word on any interest in a revival but come on...cowboys and zombies sound like a killer idea for a PC game to us.
