- Playing the version of the game Sirtech has released to the press, it's immediately clear that Wizardry 8 has suffered less from its long development time than did D. W. Bradley and Heuristic Park's Wizards and Warriors. The 3D terrain is attractive, and the monsters manage to look monstrous without being silly. The game uses translucency and other tricks to good effect; the ooze-type monsters have a disturbing transparency to them that's genuinely creepy, for example. And while the interface is pretty intricate, it's also fairly logical, and doesn't take very long to assimilate.
