1UP gives it an "A-":
Mass Effect 2 is a fantastic game regardless of platform, and anyone who doesn't own an Xbox 360 should definitely experience it on PS3. Nevertheless, the 360 version is still the way to go. The continuity of customization offered by the dozens of decision links between the first two games were easily the most satisfying thing about ME2, and that's largely lost on PS3. It's a functionally complete game here, but there's just no substitute for guiding Shepard's story from the very beginning.
IncGamers gives it a 9.6/10:
If you really wanted to play this game when it was originally released you probably have, but there's going to be a large portion of PS3 only owners that need to add this to their shopping lists when it hits the shops. With all the DLC included in this release, (the Dragon Age armour looks brilliant in case you were wondering), it's a great purchase. Trust me, you will not be disappointed if you love great story-driven games that look great, feel very open-ended and have fantastic third person action. Mass Effect 2 is brilliantly crafted, no wonder it ended up as the IncGamers Game of the Year for 2010. Buy it.
GamePro gives it a 4.5/5:
What's important is that the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 successfully brings series newcomers up to speed, which I'm sure was BioWare's primary objective. All that's left now if for PS3 owners to decide whether it's really worth finding a way to dig up a copy of the original game on the Xbox 360 or PC ahead of the grand finale.
CVG gives it a 9.5/10:
Quite simply, if the sci-fi setting appeals, Mass Effect 2 is unrivalled. It's an adventure you're unlikely to forget, and even less likely to put down before its thrilling climax.
NowGamer gives it a 9.7/10:
One of the best games available, now available on PS3. Engaging, deep, stunningly atmospheric, funny, witty, shiny and get this - fun. We struggle to think of more that can be said, other than: go and buy it now pleasethanksbye.
reghardware gives it a 95%:
So, was it worth the wait? Definitely. While it's a shame that the original Mass Effect didn't tread the path from Xbox 360 to PS3 first, it's testament to its sequel that it demands purchase regardless. Boasting the kind of epic action that few games can offer, and peppered with imaginative locales, foes and plot lines, Mass Effect 2 is the kind of game we all hoped for when the likes of the PS3 and Xbox 360 were first revealed; role on ME3, due to see the light of day on all platforms simultaneously.
And PSNation gives it an "A":
I must say that so far, I'm incredibly impressed with Mass Effect 2. First, as a person that doesn't normally like RPG's, I had no problem playing for a straight 8 hours, and it feels enough like a shooter to hold my attention. The fact that there is so much available in terms of gameplay options helps the player customize the experience to his or her liking. Honestly though, the heavy amount of dialogue did wear me out some, but the story is well-written and quite engaging, and they're not talking about dragons or +5 armor against gnome daggers. The other impressive aspect here is that, instead of what PS3 owners are used to in terms of ports from other platforms, this game feels like it was made specifically for the PS3, and that is incredibly refreshing. I'm definitely going to keep playing this one, as I'd like to see where the story leads, and fortunately, I already know that Mass Effect 3 is coming to the PS3, so there are no worries of not being able to complete this epic journey on my console of choice.
