Pirates of Black Cove Preview

Nitro Games' Pirates of Black Cove has been given the preview treatment by News10's The Game Guys, and I can only assume the information is based on the strategy/RPG's showing at last week's GDC.
While this point-and-click, top-down action RPG is fairly free-flowing, the game is mission-dependant. There are three different kinds of missions: Storyline missions, factor missions and minor side missions. Storyline missions progress the game's storyline, factor missions are used to increase reputation with a faction and the side missions are basically just fluff with perks.

Pirates of the Black Cove seems to be split into two main play modes: in-town and on-sea. When in a town, you control your pirate character and any pirates in his charge. Clicking on something will cause you and your pirates to move to it and/or interact/fight with it. By default you control all of your guys at once, though, much like an RTS title, players are able to split their troops up into smaller squads should a situation call for it.
